- For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.
- Without counsel purposes are disappointed:
but in the multitude of counsellors they are established. - Commit thy works unto the Lord,
and thy thoughts shall be established. - A man's heart deviseth his way:
but the Lord directeth his steps. - There are many devices in a man's heart;
nevertheless the counsel of the Lord, that shall stand. - Grant thee according to thine own heart,
and fulfil all thy counsel. - Surely the Lord God will do nothing,
but he revealeth his secret
unto his servants the prophets. - The Lord will perfect that which concerneth me:
thy mercy, O Lord, endureth for ever:
forsake not the works of thine own hands. - O Lord, thou art my God;
I will exalt thee, I will praise thy name;
for thou hast done wonderful things;
thy counsels of old
are faithfulness and truth. - Seek the Lord, and his strength:
seek his face evermore. - Seek the Lord and his strength,
seek his face continually. - He shall cover thee with his feathers,
and under his wings shalt thou trust:
his truth shall be thy shield and buckler. - The Lord is righteous in all his ways,
and holy in all his works. - The Lord will give strength unto his people;
the Lord will bless his people with peace. - He that keepeth his mouth keepeth his life:
but he that openeth wide his lips shall have destruction. - That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death.
- The Lord preserveth the strangers;
he relieveth the fatherless and widow:
but the way of the wicked he turneth upside down. - O give thanks unto the Lord; call upon his name:
make known his deeds among the people. - And in that day shall ye say,
Praise the Lord, call upon his name,
declare his doings among the people,
make mention that his name is exalted. - And the same John had his raiment of camel's hair, and a leathern girdle about his loins; and his meat was locusts and wild honey.
- And keep the charge of the Lord thy God, to walk in his ways, to keep his statutes, and his commandments, and his judgments, and his testimonies, as it is written in the law of Moses, that thou mayest prosper in all that thou doest, and whithersoever thou turnest thyself.
- Neither have I gone back from the commandment of his lips;
I have esteemed the words of his mouth more than my necessary food. - Yet the Lord will command his lovingkindness in the day time,
and in the night his song shall be with me,
and my prayer unto the God of my life. - Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbour's.
- For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh.
Let every one of us please his neighbour for his good to edification.So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth:
it shall not return unto me void,
but it shall accomplish that which I please,
and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.
