For you, brethren, have been called to liberty; only do not use liberty as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love.
Now to our God and Father be glory forever and ever. Amen.To our God and Father be glory for ever and ever. Amen.
For the Lord takes pleasure in His people; He will beautify the humble with salvation.For the Lord takes delight in his people; he crowns the humble with victory.
For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.
Not unto us, O Lord, not unto us, But to Your name give glory, Because of Your mercy, Because of Your truth.Not to us, Lord, not to us but to your name be the glory, because of your love and faithfulness.
The Lord makes poor and makes rich; He brings low and lifts up.The Lord sends poverty and wealth; he humbles and he exalts.
Woe to him who strives with his Maker! Let the potsherd strive with the potsherds of the earth! Shall the clay say to him who forms it, ‘What are you making?’ Or shall your handiwork say, ‘He has no hands’?Woe to those who quarrel with their Maker, those who are nothing but potsherds among the potsherds on the ground. Does the clay say to the potter, ‘What are you making?’ Does your work say, ‘The potter has no hands’?
Now I, Nebuchadnezzar, praise and extol and honor the King of heaven, all of whose works are truth, and His ways justice. And those who walk in pride He is able to put down.Now I, Nebuchadnezzar, praise and exalt and glorify the King of heaven, because everything he does is right and all his ways are just. And those who walk in pride he is able to humble.
Therefore lay aside all filthiness and overflow of wickedness, and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls.Therefore, get rid of all moral filth and the evil that is so prevalent and humbly accept the word planted in you, which can save you.
Oh come, let us worship and bow down; Let us kneel before the Lord our Maker.Come, let us bow down in worship, let us kneel before the Lord our Maker.
If I then, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet.Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another’s feet.
Moreover, when you fast, do not be like the hypocrites, with a sad countenance. For they disfigure their faces that they may appear to men to be fasting. Assuredly, I say to you, they have their reward.When you fast, do not look somber as the hypocrites do, for they disfigure their faces to show others they are fasting. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full.
Yet it shall not be so among you; but whoever desires to become great among you, let him be your servant. And whoever desires to be first among you, let him be your slave.Not so with you. Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must be your slave.
For it is written: “As I live, says the Lord, Every knee shall bow to Me, And every tongue shall confess to God.”It is written: ‘As surely as I live,’ says the Lord, ‘every knee will bow before me; every tongue will acknowledge God.’
Let the lowly brother glory in his exaltation, but the rich in his humiliation, because as a flower of the field he will pass away.Believers in humble circumstances ought to take pride in their high position. But the rich should take pride in their humiliation—since they will pass away like a wild flower.
What is man that You are mindful of him, And the son of man that You visit him?What is mankind that you are mindful of them, human beings that you care for them?
Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.
But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear.But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect.
Hear my prayer, O Lord, And give ear to my cry; Do not be silent at my tears; For I am a stranger with You, A sojourner, as all my fathers were.Hear my prayer, Lord, listen to my cry for help; do not be deaf to my weeping. I dwell with you as a foreigner, a stranger, as all my ancestors were.
In this manner, therefore, pray: Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done On earth as it is in heaven.This, then, is how you should pray: ‘Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.’
Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion! Shout, O daughter of Jerusalem! Behold, your King is coming to you; He is just and having salvation, Lowly and riding on a donkey, A colt, the foal of a donkey.Rejoice greatly, Daughter Zion! Shout, Daughter Jerusalem! See, your king comes to you, righteous and victorious, lowly and riding on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey.
Most assuredly, I say to you, a servant is not greater than his master; nor is he who is sent greater than he who sent him.Very truly I tell you, no servant is greater than his master, nor is a messenger greater than the one who sent him.
Blessed are the poor in spirit, For theirs is the kingdom of heaven.Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
And the tax collector, standing afar off, would not so much as raise his eyes to heaven, but beat his breast, saying, ‘God, be merciful to me a sinner!’But the tax collector stood at a distance. He would not even look up to heaven, but beat his breast and said, ‘God, have mercy on me, a sinner.’
