  • By humility and the fear of the Lord
    Are riches and honor and life.
  • Before destruction the heart of a man is haughty,
    And before honor is humility.
  • The fear of the Lord is the instruction of wisdom,
    And before honor is humility.
  • Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering.

  • Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time.
  • If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.

  • Therefore, when you do a charitable deed, do not sound a trumpet before you as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory from men. Assuredly, I say to you, they have their reward.

    Therefore He teaches sinners in the way.
    The humble He guides in justice,
    And the humble He teaches His way.
  • Wives, submit to your own husbands, as is fitting in the Lord.
    Husbands, love your wives and do not be bitter toward them.

  • Yet it shall not be so among you; but whoever desires to become great among you, let him be your servant. And whoever desires to be first among you, let him be your slave.

    As I live, says the Lord,
    Every knee shall bow to Me,
    And every tongue shall confess to God.”
  • Let the lowly brother glory in his exaltation, but the rich in his humiliation, because as a flower of the field he will pass away.
  • Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.

    And the son of man that You visit him?

    A colt, the foal of a donkey.
  • Most assuredly, I say to you, a servant is not greater than his master; nor is he who is sent greater than he who sent him.
  • Blessed are the poor in spirit,
    For theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
  • And the tax collector, standing afar off, would not so much as raise his eyes to heaven, but beat his breast, saying, ‘God, be merciful to me a sinner!’
