- You shall keep his statutes and his commandments which I command you today, that it may go well with you and with your children after you, and that you may prolong your days in the land which Yahweh your God gives you for all time.
- I wait for Yahweh.
My soul waits.
I hope in his word. - It shall happen, if you shall listen diligently to Yahweh your God’s voice, to observe to do all his commandments which I command you today, that Yahweh your God will set you high above all the nations of the earth.
- These words, which I command you today, shall be on your heart; and you shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise up.
- A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also love one another.
- Though an army should encamp against me,
my heart shall not fear.
Though war should rise against me,
even then I will be confident. - Don’t think that I came to destroy the law or the prophets. I didn’t come to destroy, but to fulfill.
- In God, I praise his word.
In God, I put my trust.
I will not be afraid.
What can flesh do to me? - For I long to see you, that I may impart to you some spiritual gift, to the end that you may be established; that is, that I with you may be encouraged in you, each of us by the other’s faith, both yours and mine.
- The thief only comes to steal, kill, and destroy. I came that they may have life, and may have it abundantly.
- For the high and lofty One who inhabits eternity,
whose name is Holy, says:
“I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also who is of a contrite and humble spirit,
to revive the spirit of the humble,
and to revive the heart of the contrite.” - Yahweh is on my side. I will not be afraid.
What can man do to me? - I heard every created thing which is in heaven, on the earth, under the earth, on the sea, and everything in them, saying, “To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be the blessing, the honor, the glory, and the dominion, forever and ever! Amen!”
- Don’t think that I came to send peace on the earth. I didn’t come to send peace, but a sword.
- In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
- I know how to be humbled, and I also know how to abound. In any and all circumstances I have learned the secret both to be filled and to be hungry, both to abound and to be in need.
- For there is not a word on my tongue,
but behold, Yahweh, you know it altogether. - But you go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy, and not sacrifice,’ for I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.
- I have been crucified with Christ, and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. That life which I now live in the flesh, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself up for me.
- Defend the weak, the poor, and the fatherless.
Maintain the rights of the poor and oppressed. - When I said, “My foot is slipping!”
Your loving kindness, Yahweh, held me up. - Cause me to hear your loving kindness in the morning,
for I trust in you.
Cause me to know the way in which I should walk,
for I lift up my soul to you. - But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you won’t fulfill the lust of the flesh.
- My soul, wait in silence for God alone,
for my expectation is from him. - For I command you today to love Yahweh your God, to walk in his ways and to keep his commandments, his statutes, and his ordinances, that you may live and multiply, and that Yahweh your God may bless you in the land where you go in to possess it.
