- My prayer is not that you take them out of the world but that you protect them from the evil one.

even then I will be confident. - The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.
- These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.
- Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them.
- The Lord is with me; I will not be afraid.
What can mere mortals do to me? - Then I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and on the sea, and all that is in them, saying: “To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be praise and honor and glory and power, for ever and ever!”

- I have set my rainbow in the clouds, and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and the earth.

you, Lord, know it completely. - Defend the weak and the fatherless;
uphold the cause of the poor and the oppressed. - For I command you today to love the Lord your God, to walk in obedience to him, and to keep his commands, decrees and laws; then you will live and increase, and the Lord your God will bless you in the land you are entering to possess.
- Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.
- I long to see you so that I may impart to you some spiritual gift to make you strong— that is, that you and I may be mutually encouraged by each other’s faith.
- But go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy, not sacrifice.’ For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.
- Go back and tell Hezekiah, the ruler of my people, ‘This is what the Lord, the God of your father David, says: I have heard your prayer and seen your tears; I will heal you. On the third day from now you will go up to the temple of the Lord.’
