| And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them. | I will put my Spirit in you and make you follow my statutes and my ordinances. |
| Is not this the fast that I have chosen? to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke? | This rather is the type of fast that I wish: to loosen the fetters of injustice, to undo the thongs of the yoke, to set free those who are oppressed and to break every yoke. |

| Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you. | You did not choose me. | I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance. but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire. | I baptize you with water for repentance, but the one who is coming after me is more powerful than I am. I am not worthy to carry his sandals. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire. |
| A fool hath no delight in understanding, but that his heart may discover itself. | A fool takes no pleasure in understanding but only delights in expressing his own opinions. |
| Every moving thing that liveth shall be meat for you; even as the green herb have I given you all things. | Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you. | Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened to you. |
| And ye shall be holy unto me: for I the Lord am holy, and have severed you from other people, that ye should be mine. | You shall be holy, for I, the Lord, am holy. I have chosen you from among all people that you shall be mine. |
| Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin. | Jesus replied, “Amen, amen, I say to you, everyone who sins is a slave of sin.” |
