| Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong. | For this reason, I rejoice when I endure weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and distress for the sake of Christ. For it is when I am weak that I am strong. |
| The Lord is good, A stronghold in the day of trouble; And He knows those who trust in Him. | The Lord is good, an unfailing refuge in a time of distress. He takes care of those who place their trust in him. |

| For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them. | For where two or three are gathered together in my name, I am there in their midst. |
| Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. | Let the word of Christ with all its richness dwell in you. Teach and admonish one another in all wisdom, singing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs to God with gratitude in your hearts. |
| If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love, just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and abide in His love. | If you keep my commandments, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commandments and remain in his love. |
| But our God is in heaven; He does whatever He pleases. | Our God is in heaven; he does whatever he pleases. |
| Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. | Do not love the world or what is in the world. If anyone does love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. |
| God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth. | God is Spirit, and those who worship him must worship in Spirit and truth. |
| If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. | If we live by the Spirit, let us also be guided by the Spirit. |
