and in the Father. - God abides in anyone who acknowledges
that Jesus is the Son of God,
and that person abides in God. - All those who keep his commandments abide in him,
and he abides in them.
And the proof that he abides in us
is the Spirit that he has given us. - A fool takes no pleasure in understanding
but only delights in expressing his own opinions. - Do not be lacking in zeal, but serve the Lord with spiritual fervor.

so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. - When I am terrified,
I place my trust in you. - O Lord, you grant peace to those who are steadfast
because of their trust in you. - As for you, my child, take strength from the grace that is in Christ Jesus.

or what is in the world.
If anyone does love the world,
the love of the Father is not in him. - I have instructed you in the ways of wisdom
and led you along the paths of righteousness. - For it is in him that the entire fullness of deity dwells in bodily form, and you share this fullness in him who is the head of every ruler and power.
- If you keep my commandments,
you will remain in my love,
just as I have kept my Father’s commandments
and remain in his love. - You who abide in the shelter of the Most High,
who rest in the shadow of the Almighty,
say to the Lord, “You are my refuge and my fortress,
my God in whom I place my trust.” - Without any doubt, the mystery of our religion is great:
He was made visible in the flesh,
vindicated by the Spirit,
seen by angels,
proclaimed to the Gentiles,
believed in throughout the world,
taken up in glory. - Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I say: Rejoice!
- Persevere in prayer, with alert minds and thankful hearts.
- God is Spirit,
and those who worship him
must worship in Spirit and truth.
