- This is the day that Yahweh has made.
We will rejoice and be glad in it! - See how good and how pleasant it is
for brothers to live together in unity! - Keep your heart with all diligence,
for out of it is the wellspring of life. - The earth is Yahweh’s, with its fullness;
the world, and those who dwell in it. - It is a snare to a man to make a rash dedication,
then later to consider his vows. - But he said, “On the contrary, blessed are those who hear the word of God, and keep it.”
- Why do you set your eyes on that which is not?
For it certainly sprouts wings like an eagle and flies in the sky. - But if we hope for that which we don’t see, we wait for it with patience.
- You are the salt of the earth, but if the salt has lost its flavor, with what will it be salted? It is then good for nothing, but to be cast out and trodden under the feet of men.
- All chastening seems for the present to be not joyous but grievous; yet afterward it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.
- For what does it profit a man to gain the whole world and forfeit his life?
- He took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke and gave it to them, saying, “This is my body which is given for you. Do this in memory of me.”
- He who calls you is faithful, who will also do it.
- It is an honor for a man to keep aloof from strife,
but every fool will be quarreling. - As for you, you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good, to save many people alive, as is happening today.
- Love is patient and is kind. Love doesn’t envy. Love doesn’t brag, is not proud, doesn’t behave itself inappropriately, doesn’t seek its own way, is not provoked, takes no account of evil.
- When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, “It is finished!” Then he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.
- I set my rainbow in the cloud, and it will be a sign of a covenant between me and the earth.
- Unless Yahweh builds the house,
they who build it labor in vain.
Unless Yahweh watches over the city,
the watchman guards it in vain. - Death and life are in the power of the tongue;
those who love it will eat its fruit. - God is not a man, that he should lie,
nor a son of man, that he should repent.
Has he said, and he won’t do it?
Or has he spoken, and he won’t make it good? - The entrance of your words gives light.
It gives understanding to the simple. - Train up a child in the way he should go,
and when he is old he will not depart from it. - If you remain in me, and my words remain in you, you will ask whatever you desire, and it will be done for you.
- Yahweh God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make him a helper comparable to him.”
