And when he comes, he will prove the world wrong about sin and righteousness and judgment. | And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment. |
I tell you that on the day of judgment people will have to render an account for every careless word they utter. | But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment. |
|
Therefore, the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from their trials and to hold the wicked for punishment until the Day of Judgment. | The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished. |
Therefore, you have no excuse, whoever you may be, when you pass judgment on others. For in judging others you condemn yourself, since you are doing the same things. | Therefore thou art inexcusable, O man, whosoever thou art that judgest: for wherein thou judgest another, thou condemnest thyself; for thou that judgest doest the same things. |
Therefore, let us cease passing judgment on one another, but rather judge never to put a stumbling block or hindrance in the way of a brother. | Let us not therefore judge one another any more: but judge this rather, that no man put a stumblingblock or an occasion to fall in his brother's way. |
But the Almighty we cannot find; he is unequaled in power and judgment, and in his righteousness he will not violate justice. | Touching the Almighty, we cannot find him out: he is excellent in power, and in judgment, and in plenty of justice: he will not afflict. |
Therefore, let us leave behind the basic teaching about Christ and advance toward maturity. We must not be forever laying the foundation: repentance for actions that lead to death, faith in God, instruction about baptisms and the laying on of hands, the resurrection of the dead, and eternal judgment. | Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God, Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment. |
The one who eats everything must not look contemptuously on the one who does not, and the one who abstains must not pass judgment on the one who eats, for God has welcomed both. | Let not him that eateth despise him that eateth not; and let not him which eateth not judge him that eateth: for God hath received him. |
What right do you have to pass judgment on someone else’s servant? The master will determine whether that servant will stand or fall. But the servant will be upheld, for the Lord has the power to enable him to stand. | Who art thou that judgest another man's servant? to his own master he standeth or falleth. Yea, he shall be holden up: for God is able to make him stand. |
There is only one Lawgiver and Judge, the one who is able to save or to destroy. Who then are you to pass judgment on a neighbor? | There is one lawgiver, who is able to save and to destroy: who art thou that judgest another? |
No weapon used against you will prevail, and you will refute every accusation that is raised in court against you. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, their vindication from me, says the Lord. | No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is of me, saith the Lord. |
Let marriage be held in honor by all, and the marriage bed kept undefiled, for those who are immoral and adulterers will have to face God’s judgment. | Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge. |
Therefore, do not allow anyone to pass judgment on you in regard to what you eat or drink, or about the observance of Festivals, New Moons, or Sabbaths. These are only a shadow of what is to come. The reality is Christ. | Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days: Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ. |
Brethren, I exhort you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to be in full agreement with one another and not permit any divisions to arise among you. Be perfectly united in mind and purpose. | Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment. |
Through the grace that God has bestowed upon me, I advise every one of you not to think of yourself too highly, but to regard yourself objectively, based on the measure of faith that God has granted. | For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith. |
Rather, let justice flow like a river, and righteousness like an ever-flowing stream. | But let judgment run down as waters, and righteousness as a mighty stream. |
For he guards the paths of justice and keeps watch over the way of his faithful ones. | He keepeth the paths of judgment, and preserveth the way of his saints. |
It is better to acquire wisdom rather than gold, and more desirable to acquire understanding rather than silver. | How much better is it to get wisdom than gold! and to get understanding rather to be chosen than silver! |
To do what is right and just is more acceptable to the Lord than sacrifice. | To do justice and judgment is more acceptable to the Lord than sacrifice. |
Acquire wisdom and gain understanding; never forget or turn aside from my words. | Get wisdom, get understanding: forget it not; neither decline from the words of my mouth. |
The Lord loves righteousness and justice; the earth is filled with his kindness. | He loveth righteousness and judgment: the earth is full of the goodness of the Lord. |
Riches will be of no avail on the day of wrath, but righteousness delivers from death. | Riches profit not in the day of wrath: but righteousness delivereth from death. |
Then you will understand equity and justice as well as righteousness—every good path. | Then shalt thou understand righteousness, and judgment, and equity; yea, every good path. |
And learn to do good. Pursue justice and rescue the oppressed; listen to the plea of the orphan and defend the widow. | Learn to do well; seek judgment, relieve the oppressed, judge the fatherless, plead for the widow. |
The beginning of wisdom is: acquire wisdom, and no matter what the cost, acquire understanding. | Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding. |
