- For his anger is but for a moment.
His favor is for a lifetime.
Weeping may stay for the night,
but joy comes in the morning. - You shall keep his statutes and his commandments which I command you today, that it may go well with you and with your children after you, and that you may prolong your days in the land which Yahweh your God gives you for all time.
- You shall call on me, and you shall go and pray to me, and I will listen to you.
- He was teaching in one of the synagogues on the Sabbath day. Behold, there was a woman who had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years. She was bent over and could in no way straighten herself up. When Jesus saw her, he called her and said to her, “Woman, you are freed from your infirmity.” He laid his hands on her, and immediately she stood up straight and glorified God.
The ruler of the synagogue, being indignant because Jesus had healed on the Sabbath, said to the multitude, “There are six days in which men ought to work. Therefore come on those days and be healed, and not on the Sabbath day!”
Therefore the Lord answered him, “You hypocrites! Doesn’t each one of you free his ox or his donkey from the stall on the Sabbath and lead him away to water? Ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham whom Satan had bound eighteen long years, be freed from this bondage on the Sabbath day?”
As he said these things, all his adversaries were disappointed; and all the multitude rejoiced for all the glorious things that were done by him. - One man esteems one day as more important. Another esteems every day alike. Let each man be fully assured in his own mind.
- For our light affliction, which is for the moment, works for us more and more exceedingly an eternal weight of glory.
- But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah,
being small among the clans of Judah,
out of you one will come out to me who is to be ruler in Israel;
whose goings out are from of old, from ancient times. - Every man who strives in the games exercises self-control in all things. Now they do it to receive a corruptible crown, but we an incorruptible.
- Wicked people earn deceitful wages,
but one who sows righteousness reaps a sure reward. - Yahweh God made a woman from the rib which he had taken from the man, and brought her to the man. The man said, “This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh. She will be called ‘woman,’ because she was taken out of Man.” Therefore a man will leave his father and his mother, and will join with his wife, and they will be one flesh.
- You didn’t choose me, but I chose you and appointed you, that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain; that whatever you will ask of the Father in my name, he may give it to you.
- I will sing to Yahweh as long as I live.
I will sing praise to my God while I have any being. - You shall keep my Sabbaths, and have reverence for my sanctuary. I am Yahweh.
- But now faith, hope, and love remain—these three. The greatest of these is love.
- Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain;
but a woman who fears Yahweh, she shall be praised. - For whatever things were written before were written for our learning, that through perseverance and through encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope.
- And saying, “The time is fulfilled, and God’s Kingdom is at hand! Repent, and believe in the Good News.”
- The fear of Yahweh is the beginning of wisdom.
All those who do his work have a good understanding.
His praise endures forever! - Let no one therefore judge you in eating or drinking, or with respect to a feast day or a new moon or a Sabbath day, which are a shadow of the things to come; but the body is Christ’s.
- Having been born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, through the word of God, which lives and remains forever.
- Until the Spirit is poured on us from on high,
and the wilderness becomes a fruitful field,
and the fruitful field is considered a forest. - For in it is revealed God’s righteousness from faith to faith. As it is written, “But the righteous shall live by faith.”
- I am Yahweh your God. Walk in my statutes, keep my ordinances, and do them. Make my Sabbaths holy. They shall be a sign between me and you, that you may know that I am Yahweh your God.
- Finally, brothers, rejoice! Be perfected. Be comforted. Be of the same mind. Live in peace, and the God of love and peace will be with you.
- While we don’t look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporal, but the things which are not seen are eternal.
