Bible Verses about 'Law'

All those who have sinned outside the Law will perish outside the Law, and all who sinned under the Law will be judged by the Law.When the Gentiles sin, they will be destroyed, even though they never had God’s written law. And the Jews, who do have God’s law, will be judged by that law when they fail to obey it.
For no one can be regarded as justified in the sight of God by keeping the Law. The Law brings only the consciousness of sin.For no one can ever be made right with God by doing what the law commands. The law simply shows us how sinful we are.
What then should we say? That the Law is sinful? Absolutely not! Yet if it had not been for the Law, I would not have known what sin was. I would not have known what covet is if the Law had not said, “You shall not covet.”Well then, am I suggesting that the law of God is sinful? Of course not! In fact, it was the law that showed me my sin. I would never have known that coveting is wrong if the law had not said, “You must not covet.”
The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the Law.For sin is the sting that results in death, and the law gives sin its power.
To do your will, O God, is my delight; your law is in my heart.I take joy in doing your will, my God, for your instructions are written on my heart.
Bear one another’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.Share each other’s burdens, and in this way obey the law of Christ.
Love cannot result in any harm to the neighbor; therefore, love is the fulfillment of the Law.Love does no wrong to others, so love fulfills the requirements of God’s law.
When anyone turns a deaf ear to the law, even his prayer is detestable.God detests the prayers of a person who ignores the law.
Those who love your law have great peace; they encounter no stumbling blocks. Those who love your instructions have great peace and do not stumble.
What then? Should we sin because we are not under the Law but under grace? Of course not!Well then, since God’s grace has set us free from the law, does that mean we can go on sinning? Of course not!
Everyone who sins breaks the law, for sin is lawlessness.Everyone who sins is breaking God’s law, for all sin is contrary to the law of God.
For Christ is the fulfillment of the Law for the justification of all who believe. For Christ has already accomplished the purpose for which the law was given. As a result, all who believe in him are made right with God.
Blessed are those whose way is blameless, who walk in accord with the law of the Lord.Joyful are people of integrity, who follow the instructions of the Lord.
For sin is no longer to have any power over you, since you are not under the Law but under grace.Sin is no longer your master, for you no longer live under the requirements of the law. Instead, you live under the freedom of God’s grace.
For the entire Law can be summed up in a single commandment: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”For the whole law can be summed up in this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.”
Hence, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and death. So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus. And because you belong to him, the power of the life-giving Spirit has freed you from the power of sin that leads to death.
We ourselves are Jews by birth and not Gentile sinners, yet we know that a man is justified not by the works of the Law but through faith in Jesus Christ. So we too came to believe in Christ Jesus so that we might be justified by faith in him and not by the works of the Law, for no one will be justified by the works of the Law.You and I are Jews by birth, not ‘sinners’ like the Gentiles. Yet we know that a person is made right with God by faith in Jesus Christ, not by obeying the law. And we have believed in Christ Jesus, so that we might be made right with God because of our faith in Christ, not because we have obeyed the law. For no one will ever be made right with God by obeying the law.
Owe nothing to anyone except the debt of love you owe one another. The one who loves others has fulfilled the Law.Owe nothing to anyone—except for your obligation to love one another. If you love your neighbor, you will fulfill the requirements of God’s law.
In everything, deal with others as you would like them to deal with you. This is the Law and the Prophets.Do to others whatever you would like them to do to you. This is the essence of all that is taught in the law and the prophets.
I do not set aside the grace of God, for if justification comes through the Law, then Christ died for nothing.I do not treat the grace of God as meaningless. For if keeping the law could make us right with God, then there was no need for Christ to die.
Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets. I have come not to abolish but to fulfill them.Don’t misunderstand why I have come. I did not come to abolish the law of Moses or the writings of the prophets. No, I came to accomplish their purpose.
Those of you who seek to be justified by the Law have cut yourselves off from Christ and have fallen away from grace. For if you are trying to make yourselves right with God by keeping the law, you have been cut off from Christ! You have fallen away from God’s grace.
But now the righteousness of God that is attested by the Law and the Prophets has been manifested apart from law: the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all who believe. No distinction has been made. But now God has shown us a way to be made right with him without keeping the requirements of the law, as was promised in the writings of Moses and the prophets long ago. We are made right with God by placing our faith in Jesus Christ. And this is true for everyone who believes, no matter who we are.
Indeed, under the Law almost everything is purified by blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness. In fact, according to the law of Moses, nearly everything was purified with blood. For without the shedding of blood, there is no forgiveness.
The law of the Lord is perfect, affording refreshment to the soul. The decree of the Lord is worthy of trust, imparting wisdom to the simple. The instructions of the Lord are perfect, reviving the soul. The decrees of the Lord are trustworthy, making wise the simple.

However, the one who looks intently at the perfect law of freedom and perseveres—not forgetting what he has heard but putting it into practice—will be blessed in everything he does. But if you look carefully into the perfect law that sets you free, and if you do what it says and don’t forget what you heard, then God will bless you for doing it.
