- For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit.
- For if they fall, one will lift up his companion.
But woe to him who is alone when he falls,
For he has no one to help him up. - Unless the Lord builds the house,
They labor in vain who build it;
Unless the Lord guards the city,
The watchman stays awake in vain. - For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous,
And His ears are open to their prayers;
But the face of the Lord is against those who do evil. - Though the fig tree may not blossom,
Nor fruit be on the vines;
Though the labor of the olive may fail,
And the fields yield no food;
Though the flock may be cut off from the fold,
And there be no herd in the stalls—
Yet I will rejoice in the Lord,
I will joy in the God of my salvation. - The Lord is slow to anger and great in power,
And will not at all acquit the wicked.
The Lord has His way
In the whirlwind and in the storm,
And the clouds are the dust of His feet. - The face of the Lord is against those who do evil,
To cut off the remembrance of them from the earth. - Blessed are the undefiled in the way,
Who walk in the law of the Lord! - Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God.
- Now he who received seed among the thorns is he who hears the word, and the cares of this world and the deceitfulness of riches choke the word, and he becomes unfruitful.
- The name of the Lord is a strong tower;
The righteous run to it and are safe. - The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous,
And His ears are open to their cry. - I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.
- You who love the Lord, hate evil!
He preserves the souls of His saints;
He delivers them out of the hand of the wicked. - Yours, O Lord, is the greatness,
The power and the glory,
The victory and the majesty;
For all that is in heaven and in earth is Yours;
Yours is the kingdom, O Lord,
And You are exalted as head over all. - Many are the afflictions of the righteous,
But the Lord delivers him out of them all. - But You, O Lord, are a shield for me,
My glory and the One who lifts up my head. - He loves righteousness and justice;
The earth is full of the goodness of the Lord. - The integrity of the upright will guide them,
But the perversity of the unfaithful will destroy them. - One thing I have desired of the Lord,
That will I seek:
That I may dwell in the house of the Lord
All the days of my life,
To behold the beauty of the Lord,
And to inquire in His temple. - Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.”
- Behold, happy is the man whom God corrects;
Therefore do not despise the chastening of the Almighty. - For the earnest expectation of the creation eagerly waits for the revealing of the sons of God.
- Then the multitudes who went before and those who followed cried out, saying:
“Hosanna to the Son of David!
‘Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!’
Hosanna in the highest!” - Learn to do good;
Seek justice,
Rebuke the oppressor;
Defend the fatherless,
Plead for the widow.
