- And now, brethren, farewell. Mend your ways. Encourage one another. Be of one mind and live in peace. Then the God of love and peace will be with you.
- Rather, professing truth and love, we will in all things grow into him who is the head, Christ.
- For your kindness extends to the heavens;
your faithfulness, to the skies. - Because in my eyes you are precious,
because you are honored and I love you,
I will give people in exchange for you
and nations in return for your life. - Although you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with a joy that is indescribable and glorious. For you are achieving the goal of your faith, that is, the salvation of your souls.
- O Lord, do not withhold your mercy from me;
may your kindness and your truth keep me safe forever. - Jesus answered him,
“Whoever loves me will keep my word,
and my Father will love him,
and we will come to him
and make our abode with him.” - Brethren, we must always give thanks to God for you, and it is only right that we do so. For your faith grows ever more, and the love that all of you have for one another continues to increase.
- This is what love is:
not that we have loved God,
but that he loved us
and sent his Son as expiation for our sins. - Anyone who has received my commandments
and observes them
is the one who loves me.
And whoever loves me
will be loved by my Father,
and I will love him
and reveal myself to him. - Not to us, O Lord, not to us,
but to your name give glory
because of your kindness and faithfulness. - However, each one of you should love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife should respect her husband.
- For where there is envy and selfish ambition, there will also be disharmony and every type of wickedness.
- I ask that from the riches of his glory he may grant through his Spirit that you be strengthened with power in your inner being and that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith.
- The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.
- However, you, dear friends, must build yourselves up in your most holy faith and pray in the Holy Spirit. Keep yourselves in the love of God as you await our Lord Jesus Christ in his mercy, who will grant you eternal life.
- Remain sober and alert, for your enemy the devil is on the prowl like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour.
- But as for you, man of God, you must shun all this. Rather, pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, fortitude, and gentleness.
- This is how we know what love is:
he laid down his life for us,
and we in turn must be prepared
to lay down our lives for our brethren. - O Lord, let your kindness rest upon us,
for we have placed our hope in you. - We know that God makes all things work together for good for those who love him and who are called according to his purpose.
- And walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a sacrificial offering whose fragrance is pleasing to God.
- When I realized that my foot was slipping,
your kindness, O Lord, raised me up. - Since in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor lack of circumcision is worth anything. All that matters is faith expressing itself through love.
- Therefore, prepare your minds for action. Be calm and fix your hopes completely on the grace that you will be granted at the revelation of Jesus Christ.
