He replied, “Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey it.” | But he said, Yea rather, blessed are they that hear the word of God, and keep it. |
Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests. | Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men. |
Heal the sick who are there and tell them, ‘The kingdom of God has come near to you.’ | And heal the sick that are therein, and say unto them, The kingdom of God is come nigh unto you. |
Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. | For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. |
Do not be afraid, little flock, for your Father has been pleased to give you the kingdom. | Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom. |
Hearing this, Jesus said to Jairus, “Don’t be afraid; just believe, and she will be healed.” | But when Jesus heard it, he answered him, saying, Fear not: believe only, and she shall be made whole. |
There is nothing concealed that will not be disclosed, or hidden that will not be made known. | For there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; neither hid, that shall not be known. |
Give to everyone who asks you, and if anyone takes what belongs to you, do not demand it back. | Give to every man that asketh of thee; and of him that taketh away thy goods ask them not again. |
And if you do good to those who are good to you, what credit is that to you? Even sinners do that. | And if ye do good to them which do good to you, what thank have ye? for sinners also do even the same. |
In the same way, I tell you, there is rejoicing in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents. | Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth. |
For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will save it. | For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: but whosoever will lose his life for my sake, the same shall save it. |
But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people.” | And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. |
So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. | And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you. |
However, do not rejoice that the spirits submit to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven. | Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven. |
Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven. | Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven. |
Jesus called out with a loud voice, “Father, into your hands I commit my spirit.” When he had said this, he breathed his last. | And when Jesus had cried with a loud voice, he said, Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit: and having said thus, he gave up the ghost. |
Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.” And they divided up his clothes by casting lots. | Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots. |
Then he said to them all: “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me.” | And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me. |
John answered, “Anyone who has two shirts should share with the one who has none, and anyone who has food should do the same.” | He answereth and saith unto them, He that hath two coats, let him impart to him that hath none; and he that hath meat, let him do likewise. |
