Maketh (2/3)

A gentle answer deflects anger, but harsh words make tempers flare.A gentle reply turns away wrath, but a harsh word arouses anger.
Remember, you must not make any idols of silver or gold to rival me.Do not make gods from silver or from gold instead of me. You will not make them for yourselves.
God places the lonely in families; he sets the prisoners free and gives them joy. But he makes the rebellious live in a sun-scorched land.He gives a home to those who are forsaken and leads out prisoners amid chants of exultation, while rebels are forced to live in an arid land.
Come and listen to my counsel. I’ll share my heart with you and make you wise.If you would seriously consider my reproof, I would pour out my thoughts to you and make my precepts known to you.
“Come now, let’s settle this,” says the Lord. “Though your sins are like scarlet, I will make them as white as snow. Though they are red like crimson, I will make them as white as wool.”Come now and let us discuss this, says the Lord. Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be like snow. Though they are as red as crimson, they shall become as white as wool.
Sing to the Lord, for he has done wonderful things. Make known his praise around the world.Sing praise to the Lord for his mighty deeds; let this be known throughout the entire world.
So you have not received a spirit that makes you fearful slaves. Instead, you received God’s Spirit when he adopted you as his own children. Now we call him, “Abba, Father.”For you did not receive a spirit of slavery leading to fear; rather, you received the Spirit of adoption, enabling us to cry out, “Abba! Father!”
Make every effort to keep yourselves united in the Spirit, binding yourselves together with peace.Make every possible effort to preserve the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.
And since we know he hears us when we make our requests, we also know that he will give us what we ask for.And if we know that he hears us in regard to whatever we ask him, we may be sure that all we ask of him will be ours.
This Good News tells us how God makes us right in his sight. This is accomplished from start to finish by faith. As the Scriptures say, “It is through faith that a righteous person has life.”In it the righteousness of God is revealed, beginning in faith and established in faith. As it is written: “The one who is righteous will live through faith.”
Then the Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper who is just right for him.”And the Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I wish to make another creature who will be like him.”
The human body has many parts, but the many parts make up one whole body. So it is with the body of Christ. The body is one, although it has many parts; and all the parts, though many, form one body. So it is with Christ.
So all of us who have had that veil removed can see and reflect the glory of the Lord. And the Lord—who is the Spirit—makes us more and more like him as we are changed into his glorious image. And as we gaze upon the glory of the Lord with unveiled faces, all of us are being transformed into that same image from glory to glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.
So Christ has truly set us free. Now make sure that you stay free, and don’t get tied up again in slavery to the law.It was for freedom that Christ set us free. Therefore, stand firm and refuse to submit again to the yoke of slavery.
Turn us again to yourself, O Lord God of Heaven’s Armies. Make your face shine down upon us. Only then will we be saved.Restore us, O Lord of hosts; let your face shine upon us, and we will be saved.
For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard. Yet God, in his grace, freely makes us right in his sight. He did this through Christ Jesus when he freed us from the penalty for our sins. For all have sinned and thereby are deprived of the glory of God, and all are justified by the gift of his grace that is given freely through the redemption in Christ Jesus.
What sorrow awaits those who argue with their Creator. Does a clay pot argue with its maker? Does the clay dispute with the one who shapes it, saying, ‘Stop, you’re doing it wrong!’ Does the pot exclaim, ‘How clumsy can you be?’Woe to anyone who rises up against his Maker, or to the pot that is displeased with the potter. Does the clay say to the one who molds it, “What are you doing? Your work makes no sense.”
Jesus replied, “All who love me will do what I say. My Father will love them, and we will come and make our home with each of them.”Jesus answered him, “Whoever loves me will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our abode with him.”
And may the Lord make your love for one another and for all people grow and overflow, just as our love for you overflows.May the Lord cause your love to increase and overflow for one another and for everyone else, just as our love does for you.
Make allowance for each other’s faults, and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others.Bear with one another, and forgive one another if anyone has reason to be offended with another. You must forgive just as the Lord has forgiven you.
So be careful how you live. Don’t live like fools, but like those who are wise. Make the most of every opportunity in these evil days. Therefore, take care to live as intelligent people, and do not be like those who are senseless. Make the most of the present time, for this is a wicked age.
He gave his life to free us from every kind of sin, to cleanse us, and to make us his very own people, totally committed to doing good deeds. He gave himself for us in order to deliver us from all iniquity and to purify for himself a people as his own who are eager to do good.
Indeed, we all make many mistakes. For if we could control our tongues, we would be perfect and could also control ourselves in every other way.For all of us fall short in many ways. Anyone who never makes a mistake in speech has reached perfection and is able to control every part of his body.
Be careful then, dear brothers and sisters. Make sure that your own hearts are not evil and unbelieving, turning you away from the living God.Take care, brethren, that none of you will ever have an evil and unbelieving heart that will cause you to forsake the living God.
I do not treat the grace of God as meaningless. For if keeping the law could make us right with God, then there was no need for Christ to die.I do not set aside the grace of God, for if justification comes through the Law, then Christ died for nothing.

For if you are trying to make yourselves right with God by keeping the law, you have been cut off from Christ! You have fallen away from God’s grace. Those of you who seek to be justified by the Law have cut yourselves off from Christ and have fallen away from grace.

A person standing alone can be attacked and defeated, but two can stand back-to-back and conquer. Three are even better, for a triple-braided cord is not easily broken.Next verse! With image
