| Do not lie to one another, seeing that you have stripped off the old self with its practices and have clothed yourselves with the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge according to the image of its creator. | Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds; And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him. |
| The wealth of the rich is their strong city; in their imagination it is like a high wall. | The rich man's wealth is his strong city, and as an high wall in his own conceit. |

| It is a snare for one to say rashly, “It is holy,” and begin to reflect only after making a vow. | It is a snare to the man who devoureth that which is holy, and after vows to make enquiry. |
| He answered, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength, and with all your mind; and your neighbor as yourself.” | And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself. |
| And steadfast love belongs to you, O Lord. For you repay to all according to their work. | Also unto thee, O Lord, belongeth mercy: for thou renderest to every man according to his work. |
