The seed sown among thorns is the one who hears the word, but worldly cares and the lure of riches choke the word and it bears no fruit.As for what was sown among thorns, this is the one who hears the word, but the cares of the world and the deceitfulness of riches choke the word, and it proves unfruitful.
A wealthy man pays a ransom to save his life; a poor man never has to worry about such threats.The ransom of a man's life is his wealth, but a poor man hears no threat.
Do not make gods from silver or from gold instead of me. You will not make them for yourselves.You shall not make gods of silver to be with me, nor shall you make for yourselves gods of gold.
