“And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine.” - I look up to the mountains—
does my help come from there?
My help comes from the Lord,
who made heaven and earth! - I say to myself, “The Lord is my inheritance;
therefore, I will hope in him!” - Hear my prayer, O Lord;
listen to my plea!
Answer me because you are faithful and righteous. - So Jesus told them, “My message is not my own; it comes from God who sent me.”
- O God, you are my God;
I earnestly search for you.
My soul thirsts for you;
my whole body longs for you
in this parched and weary land
where there is no water. - My child, listen to me and do as I say,
and you will have a long, good life. - For I cried out to him for help,
praising him as I spoke. - I lift my hands to you in prayer.
I thirst for you as parched land thirsts for rain. - “Don’t cling to me,” Jesus said, “for I haven’t yet ascended to the Father. But go find my brothers and tell them, ‘I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.’”
- Your unfailing love is better than life itself;
how I praise you!
I will praise you as long as I live,
lifting up my hands to you in prayer. - My child, never forget the things I have taught you.
Store my commands in your heart.
If you do this, you will live many years,
and your life will be satisfying. - My child, pay attention to what I say.
Listen carefully to my words.
Don’t lose sight of them.
Let them penetrate deep into your heart. - My future is in your hands.
Rescue me from those who hunt me down relentlessly. - As for me, I look to the Lord for help.
I wait confidently for God to save me,
and my God will certainly hear me. - Those who live in the shelter of the Most High
will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty.
This I declare about the Lord:
He alone is my refuge, my place of safety;
he is my God, and I trust him. - The Sovereign Lord is my strength!
He makes me as surefooted as a deer,
able to tread upon the heights. - I will sing to the Lord as long as I live.
I will praise my God to my last breath! - I said to the Lord, “You are my Master!
Every good thing I have comes from you.” - Listen to my voice in the morning, Lord.
Each morning I bring my requests to you and wait expectantly. - From the depths of despair, O Lord,
I call for your help.
Hear my cry, O Lord.
Pay attention to my prayer. - Have mercy on me, O God,
because of your unfailing love.
Because of your great compassion,
blot out the stain of my sins.
Wash me clean from my guilt.
Purify me from my sin. - Now if you will obey me and keep my covenant, you will be my own special treasure from among all the peoples on earth; for all the earth belongs to me.
- But when I am afraid,
I will put my trust in you. - For just as the heavens are higher than the earth,
so my ways are higher than your ways
and my thoughts higher than your thoughts.
