- Can a woman forget the infant at her breast;
or feel no compassion for the child of her womb?
Even should she forget,
I will never forget you.
Behold, I have inscribed your name
on the palms of my hands;
your walls are continually before my eyes. - No, I tell you. But unless you repent, you will all perish as they did.
- If you are angry, do not sin. Do not let the sun set on your anger, and do not give the devil an opening.
- Seek the Lord while he still may be found;
call to him when he is close at hand. - And just as no human being comprehends any person’s innermost being except the person’s own spirit within him, so also no one comprehends what pertains to God except the Spirit of God.
- What then? Should we sin because we are not under the Law but under grace? Of course not!
- Rather, put on the Lord Jesus Christ and allow no opportunity for the flesh to gratify its sinful desires.
- I say to the Lord, “You are my Lord;
I have no good apart from you.” - No one can have greater love
than to lay down his life for his friends. - Indeed, under the Law almost everything is purified by blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness.
- No one should seek his own advantage in preference to that of his neighbor.
- A fool is quick to show his anger,
but a prudent man ignores an insult. - The blessing of the Lord is what brings wealth,
and our toil adds nothing to it. - Let us never grow weary in doing what is right, for if we do not give up, we will reap our harvest in due time.
- Love cannot result in any harm to the neighbor; therefore, love is the fulfillment of the Law.
- There is no salvation in anyone else, nor is there any other name under heaven given to men by which we can be saved.
- The second is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.
- I have made a covenant with my eyes
not to look with desire upon a virgin. - While experiencing temptation, no one should say, “God is tempting me.” For God cannot be tempted by evil, and he himself tempts no one.
- If you would seriously consider my reproof,
I would pour out my thoughts to you
and make my precepts known to you. - The powerful suffer want and go hungry,
but those who seek the Lord want for no good thing. - Nothing gives me greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth.
- When you make a vow to God, do not delay in fulfilling it, for God has no pleasure in fools. Fulfill the vow you have made.
- No one can serve two masters. For you will either hate the one and love the other or be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.
- What then should we say? That the Law is sinful? Absolutely not! Yet if it had not been for the Law, I would not have known what sin was. I would not have known what covet is if the Law had not said, “You shall not covet.”
A wise son brings joy to his father,
but a foolish son gives grief to his mother. Let us never grow weary in doing what is right, for if we do not give up, we will reap our harvest in due time.Next verse!With image
