Chinese (traditional)- “Be angry, and don’t sin.” Don’t let the sun go down on your wrath, and don’t give place to the devil.
- The ransom of a man’s life is his riches,
but the poor hear no threats. - Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness for forty days, being tempted by the devil. He ate nothing in those days. Afterward, when they were completed, he was hungry.
- I have no greater joy than this: to hear about my children walking in truth.
- Hear my prayer, Yahweh, and give ear to my cry.
Don’t be silent at my tears.
For I am a stranger with you,
a foreigner, as all my fathers were. - You are all beautiful, my love.
There is no spot in you. - But he who looks into the perfect law of freedom and continues, not being a hearer who forgets but a doer of the work, this man will be blessed in what he does.
- There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!
- What then? Shall we sin because we are not under law but under grace? May it never be!
- Let no one seek his own, but each one his neighbor’s good.
- For who among men knows the things of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so, no one knows the things of God except God’s Spirit.
- Yahweh is slow to anger, and great in power, and will by no means leave the guilty unpunished. Yahweh has his way in the whirlwind and in the storm, and the clouds are the dust of his feet.
- Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends.
- A fool shows his annoyance the same day,
but one who overlooks an insult is prudent. - According to the law, nearly everything is cleansed with blood, and apart from shedding of blood there is no remission.
- Let’s not be weary in doing good, for we will reap in due season if we don’t give up.
- Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil, for you are with me.
Your rod and your staff,
they comfort me. - Owe no one anything, except to love one another; for he who loves his neighbor has fulfilled the law.
- Let no man say when he is tempted, “I am tempted by God,” for God can’t be tempted by evil, and he himself tempts no one.
- Therefore also be ready, for in an hour that you don’t expect, the Son of Man will come.
- Love doesn’t harm a neighbor. Love therefore is the fulfillment of the law.
- You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall not commit adultery;’ but I tell you that everyone who gazes at a woman to lust after her has committed adultery with her already in his heart.
- The second is like this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.
- I am coming quickly! Hold firmly that which you have, so that no one takes your crown.
- He was going on the Sabbath day through the grain fields; and his disciples began, as they went, to pluck the ears of grain. The Pharisees said to him, “Behold, why do they do that which is not lawful on the Sabbath day?”
He said to them, “Did you never read what David did when he had need and was hungry—he, and those who were with him? How he entered into God’s house at the time of Abiathar the high priest, and ate the show bread, which is not lawful to eat except for the priests, and gave also to those who were with him?”
He said to them, “The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath. Therefore the Son of Man is lord even of the Sabbath.”
Behold, his soul is puffed up. It is not upright in him, but the righteous will live by his faith. He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the Good News to the whole creation.”Next verse! With image
