| And according to the law almost all things are purified with blood, and without shedding of blood there is no remission. | In fact, the law requires that nearly everything be cleansed with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness. |

Instead, they put it on a stand, so that those who come in can see the light. |
| Whoever has no rule over his own spirit Is like a city broken down, without walls. | Like a city whose walls are broken through is a person who lacks self-control. |
| Let no one despise your youth, but be an example to the believers in word, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity. | Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity. |

| Let no one deceive himself. If anyone among you seems to be wise in this age, let him become a fool that he may become wise. | Do not deceive yourselves. If any of you think you are wise by the standards of this age, you should become “fools” so that you may become wise. |
