- The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge,
But fools despise wisdom and instruction. - The lips of the righteous know what is acceptable,
But the mouth of the wicked what is perverse. - He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins.
- One thing I have desired of the Lord,
That will I seek:
That I may dwell in the house of the Lord
All the days of my life,
To behold the beauty of the Lord,
And to inquire in His temple. - That their hearts may be encouraged, being knit together in love, and attaining to all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the knowledge of the mystery of God, both of the Father and of Christ.
- Blessings are on the head of the righteous,
But violence covers the mouth of the wicked. - Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
- Blessed is the man
Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly,
Nor stands in the path of sinners,
Nor sits in the seat of the scornful. - Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.
- Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand!
- What is man that You are mindful of him,
And the son of man that You visit him? - These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God.
- For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
- Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
- “Return to Me,” says the Lord of hosts, “and I will return to you,” says the Lord of hosts.
- And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.
- That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
- He loves righteousness and justice;
The earth is full of the goodness of the Lord. - There is also an antitype which now saves us—baptism (not the removal of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God), through the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
- Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit.
- Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and His ways past finding out!
- But I will sing of Your power;
Yes, I will sing aloud of Your mercy in the morning;
For You have been my defense
And refuge in the day of my trouble. - Who being the brightness of His glory and the express image of His person, and upholding all things by the word of His power, when He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high.
- For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
- And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.
