| But who am I, and what is my people, that we should be able to offer so willingly as this? For all things come from you, and we have given you of your own. | But who am I, and what are your people, that we should be able to do this? All things belong to you, and everything that we have given you is from your hand. |
| Don’t be deceived. God is not mocked, for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. | Do not be deceived; God cannot be mocked. A person will reap only what he sows. |

| God sets the lonely in families. He brings out the prisoners with singing, but the rebellious dwell in a sun-scorched land. | He gives a home to those who are forsaken and leads out prisoners amid chants of exultation, while rebels are forced to live in an arid land. |
| House and riches are an inheritance from fathers, but a prudent wife is from Yahweh. | A house and wealth are inherited from parents, but a prudent wife is a gift from the Lord. |
| Turn us again, Yahweh God of Armies. Cause your face to shine, and we will be saved. | Restore us, O Lord of hosts; let your face shine upon us, and we will be saved. |
| You shall serve Yahweh your God, and he will bless your bread and your water, and I will take sickness away from among you. | You shall serve the Lord, your God. He will bless your bread and water and take away sickness from your midst. |
| Surely goodness and loving kindness shall follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in Yahweh’s house forever. | Only goodness and kindness will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever and ever. |
| Because by the works of the law, no flesh will be justified in his sight; for through the law comes the knowledge of sin. | For no one can be regarded as justified in the sight of God by keeping the Law. The Law brings only the consciousness of sin. |
| But the Scripture imprisoned all things under sin, that the promise by faith in Jesus Christ might be given to those who believe. | But according to Scripture all things have been confined under sin, so that through faith in Jesus Christ what was promised might be given to those who believe. |
| Remember this: he who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly. He who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. | Remember this: if you sow sparingly, you will reap sparingly, and if you sow generously, you will reap generously as well. |
| Don’t be afraid of those who kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul. Rather, fear him who is able to destroy both soul and body in Gehenna. | Have no fear of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, fear the one who can destroy both soul and body in Gehenna. |
| With my soul I have desired you in the night. Yes, with my spirit within me I will seek you earnestly; for when your judgments are in the earth, the inhabitants of the world learn righteousness. | My soul longs for you throughout the night, and my spirit within me seeks your presence. For when your judgments are revealed to the earth, the inhabitants of the world learn to practice justice. |
