| Enter in by the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the way is broad that leads to destruction, and there are many who enter in by it. How narrow is the gate and the way is restricted that leads to life! For the perverse man is an abomination to the Lord whose friendship is bestowed only upon the upright. |

| We are bound to always give thanks to God for you, brothers, even as it is appropriate, because your faith grows exceedingly, and the love of each and every one of you toward one another abounds. | Brethren, we must always give thanks to God for you, and it is only right that we do so. For your faith grows ever more, and the love that all of you have for one another continues to increase. |

| If you do good to those who do good to you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners do the same. | And if you do good to those who do good to you, what credit is that to you? Even sinners do as much. |
| You shall walk after Yahweh your God, fear him, keep his commandments, and obey his voice. You shall serve him, and cling to him. | It is the Lord, your God, whom you are to follow. You must fear him and observe his commandments and obey what he tells you and serve him and hold fast to him. |
| House and riches are an inheritance from fathers, but a prudent wife is from Yahweh. | A house and wealth are inherited from parents, but a prudent wife is a gift from the Lord. |
| Turn us again, Yahweh God of Armies. Cause your face to shine, and we will be saved. | Restore us, O Lord of hosts; let your face shine upon us, and we will be saved. |
