PSALM (4/4)

With my whole heart have I sought thee: O let me not wander from thy commandments.I have tried hard to find you— don’t let me wander from your commands.
Surely he shall not be moved for ever: the righteous shall be in everlasting remembrance.Such people will not be overcome by evil. Those who are righteous will be long remembered.
Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed thereto according to thy word.How can a young person stay pure? By obeying your word.
Order my steps in thy word: and let not any iniquity have dominion over me.Guide my steps by your word, so I will not be overcome by evil.
O taste and see that the Lord is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.Taste and see that the Lord is good. Oh, the joys of those who take refuge in him!
I will be glad and rejoice in thee: I will sing praise to thy name, O thou most High.I will be filled with joy because of you. I will sing praises to your name, O Most High.
Defend the poor and fatherless: do justice to the afflicted and needy.Give justice to the poor and the orphan; uphold the rights of the oppressed and the destitute.
The Lord is nigh unto all them that call upon him, to all that call upon him in truth.The Lord is close to all who call on him, yes, to all who call on him in truth.
Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised; and his greatness is unsearchable.Great is the Lord! He is most worthy of praise! No one can measure his greatness.
Blessed are they that keep his testimonies, and that seek him with the whole heart.Joyful are those who obey his laws and search for him with all their hearts.
He only is my rock and my salvation; he is my defence; I shall not be greatly moved.He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress where I will never be shaken.
Trust in the Lord, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed.Trust in the Lord and do good. Then you will live safely in the land and prosper.
I called upon the Lord in distress: the Lord answered me, and set me in a large place.In my distress I prayed to the Lord, and the Lord answered me and set me free.
Thy testimonies have I taken as an heritage for ever: for they are the rejoicing of my heart.Your laws are my treasure; they are my heart’s delight.
For the Lord taketh pleasure in his people: he will beautify the meek with salvation.For the Lord delights in his people; he crowns the humble with victory.
The wicked borroweth, and payeth not again: but the righteous sheweth mercy, and giveth.The wicked borrow and never repay, but the godly are generous givers.
In God is my salvation and my glory: the rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God.My victory and honor come from God alone. He is my refuge, a rock where no enemy can reach me.
The entrance of thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple.The teaching of your word gives light, so even the simple can understand.
The eyes of the Lord are upon the righteous, and his ears are open unto their cry.The eyes of the Lord watch over those who do right; his ears are open to their cries for help.
Turn us again, O Lord God of hosts, cause thy face to shine; and we shall be saved.Turn us again to yourself, O Lord God of Heaven’s Armies. Make your face shine down upon us. Only then will we be saved.
I stretch forth my hands unto thee: my soul thirsteth after thee, as a thirsty land. Selah.I lift my hands to you in prayer. I thirst for you as parched land thirsts for rain.
What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him?What are mere mortals that you should think about them, human beings that you should care for them?
My soul thirsteth for God, for the living God: when shall I come and appear before God?I thirst for God, the living God. When can I go and stand before him?
Blessed be the Lord, who daily loadeth us with benefits, even the God of our salvation. Selah.Praise the Lord; praise God our savior! For each day he carries us in his arms.
This poor man cried, and the Lord heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles.In my desperation I prayed, and the Lord listened; he saved me from all my troubles.
