Chinese (traditional)- For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
- I will never forget your precepts,
for by them you have preserved my life. - Whoever heeds discipline shows the way to life,
but whoever ignores correction leads others astray. - Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”
- Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.
- For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.
- Just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.
- Surely your goodness and love will follow me
all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of the Lord
forever. - The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.
- By day the Lord directs his love,
at night his song is with me—
a prayer to the God of my life. - You make known to me the path of life;
you will fill me with joy in your presence,
with eternal pleasures at your right hand. - This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters.
- This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.
- I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful.
- Above all else, guard your heart,
for everything you do flows from it. - The Lord is my light and my salvation—
whom shall I fear?
The Lord is the stronghold of my life—
of whom shall I be afraid? - For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
- Then Jesus declared, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.”
- In fact, everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted.
- Then he said to them, “Watch out! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; life does not consist in an abundance of possessions.”
- I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life.
- But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves of God, the benefit you reap leads to holiness, and the result is eternal life.
- So that, just as sin reigned in death, so also grace might reign through righteousness to bring eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
- Because your love is better than life,
my lips will glorify you.
I will praise you as long as I live,
and in your name I will lift up my hands. - My son, do not forget my teaching,
but keep my commands in your heart,
for they will prolong your life many years
and bring you peace and prosperity.
When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet: “The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel” (which means “God with us”).
