- I will both lie down in peace, and sleep;
For You alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety. - My voice You shall hear in the morning, O Lord;
In the morning I will direct it to You,
And I will look up. - For You, O Lord, will bless the righteous;
With favor You will surround him as with a shield. - What is man that You are mindful of him,
And the son of man that You visit him? - I will praise You, O Lord, with my whole heart;
I will tell of all Your marvelous works. - I will be glad and rejoice in You;
I will sing praise to Your name, O Most High. - The Lord also will be a refuge for the oppressed,
A refuge in times of trouble. - And those who know Your name will put their trust in You;
For You, Lord, have not forsaken those who seek You. - Arise, O Lord!
O God, lift up Your hand!
Do not forget the humble. - But I have trusted in Your mercy;
My heart shall rejoice in Your salvation.
I will sing to the Lord,
Because He has dealt bountifully with me. - He who walks uprightly,
And works righteousness,
And speaks the truth in his heart;
He who does not backbite with his tongue,
Nor does evil to his neighbor,
Nor does he take up a reproach against his friend. - Preserve me, O God, for in You I put my trust.
- O my soul, you have said to the Lord,
“You are my Lord,
My goodness is nothing apart from You.” - I have set the Lord always before me;
Because He is at my right hand I shall not be moved. - You will show me the path of life;
In Your presence is fullness of joy;
At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore. - I will love You, O Lord, my strength.
The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer;
My God, my strength, in whom I will trust;
My shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. - In my distress I called upon the Lord,
And cried out to my God;
He heard my voice from His temple,
And my cry came before Him, even to His ears. - With the merciful You will show Yourself merciful;
With a blameless man You will show Yourself blameless. - For You will light my lamp;
The Lord my God will enlighten my darkness. - As for God, His way is perfect;
The word of the Lord is proven;
He is a shield to all who trust in Him. - For who is God, except the Lord?
And who is a rock, except our God? - You have also given me the shield of Your salvation;
Your right hand has held me up,
Your gentleness has made me great.
You enlarged my path under me,
So my feet did not slip. - The heavens declare the glory of God;
And the firmament shows His handiwork.
Day unto day utters speech,
And night unto night reveals knowledge. - The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul;
The testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple. - The statutes of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart;
The commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes.
