- But you, Lord, are a shield around me,
my glory, the One who lifts my head high. - From the Lord comes deliverance.
May your blessing be on your people. - In peace I will lie down and sleep,
for you alone, Lord,
make me dwell in safety. - In the morning, Lord, you hear my voice;
in the morning I lay my requests before you
and wait expectantly. - Surely, Lord, you bless the righteous;
you surround them with your favor as with a shield. - What is mankind that you are mindful of them,
human beings that you care for them? - I will give thanks to you, Lord, with all my heart;
I will tell of all your wonderful deeds. - I will be glad and rejoice in you;
I will sing the praises of your name, O Most High. - The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed,
a stronghold in times of trouble. - Those who know your name trust in you,
for you, Lord, have never forsaken those who seek you. - Arise, Lord! Lift up your hand, O God.
Do not forget the helpless. - But I trust in your unfailing love;
my heart rejoices in your salvation.
I will sing the Lord’s praise,
for he has been good to me. - The one whose walk is blameless,
who does what is righteous,
who speaks the truth from their heart;
whose tongue utters no slander,
who does no wrong to a neighbor,
and casts no slur on others.
What you have said in the dark will be heard in the daylight, and what you have whispered in the ear in the inner rooms will be proclaimed from the roofs. I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith.
