Right (3/4)

He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.No, O people, the Lord has told you what is good, and this is what he requires of you: to do what is right, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.
And if we are careful to obey all this law before the Lord our God, as he has commanded us, that will be our righteousness. For we will be counted as righteous when we obey all the commands the Lord our God has given us.
Brothers and sisters, if someone is caught in a sin, you who live by the Spirit should restore that person gently. But watch yourselves, or you also may be tempted.Dear brothers and sisters, if another believer is overcome by some sin, you who are godly should gently and humbly help that person back onto the right path. And be careful not to fall into the same temptation yourself.
Show me your ways, Lord, teach me your paths.Show me the right path, O Lord; point out the road for me to follow.
And I saw that all toil and all achievement spring from one person’s envy of another. This too is meaningless, a chasing after the wind. Then I observed that most people are motivated to success because they envy their neighbors. But this, too, is meaningless—like chasing the wind.
Each of us should please our neighbors for their good, to build them up.We should help others do what is right and build them up in the Lord.
Ill-gotten treasures have no lasting value, but righteousness delivers from death.Tainted wealth has no lasting value, but right living can save your life.
Wealth is worthless in the day of wrath, but righteousness delivers from death.Riches won’t help on the day of judgment, but right living can save you from death.
Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.God blesses those who are persecuted for doing right, for the Kingdom of Heaven is theirs.
The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and his ears are attentive to their cry.The eyes of the Lord watch over those who do right; his ears are open to their cries for help.
For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother’s womb. Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex! Your workmanship is marvelous—how well I know it.
In you, Lord, I have taken refuge; let me never be put to shame; deliver me in your righteousness.O Lord, I have come to you for protection; don’t let me be disgraced. Save me, for you do what is right.
But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what they have done has been done in the sight of God.But those who do what is right come to the light so others can see that they are doing what God wants.
Who are you to judge someone else’s servant? To their own master, servants stand or fall. And they will stand, for the Lord is able to make them stand.Who are you to condemn someone else’s servants? Their own master will judge whether they stand or fall. And with the Lord’s help, they will stand and receive his approval.
Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time.So humble yourselves under the mighty power of God, and at the right time he will lift you up in honor.
“Now then,” said Joshua, “throw away the foreign gods that are among you and yield your hearts to the Lord, the God of Israel.”“All right then,” Joshua said, “destroy the idols among you, and turn your hearts to the Lord, the God of Israel.”
The Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him.”Then the Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper who is just right for him.”
Out of the same mouth come praise and cursing. My brothers and sisters, this should not be.And so blessing and cursing come pouring out of the same mouth. Surely, my brothers and sisters, this is not right!
Accept the one whose faith is weak, without quarreling over disputable matters.Accept other believers who are weak in faith, and don’t argue with them about what they think is right or wrong.
We who are Jews by birth and not sinful Gentiles know that a person is not justified by the works of the law, but by faith in Jesus Christ. So we, too, have put our faith in Christ Jesus that we may be justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the law, because by the works of the law no one will be justified. You and I are Jews by birth, not ‘sinners’ like the Gentiles. Yet we know that a person is made right with God by faith in Jesus Christ, not by obeying the law. And we have believed in Christ Jesus, so that we might be made right with God because of our faith in Christ, not because we have obeyed the law. For no one will ever be made right with God by obeying the law.
Therefore no one will be declared righteous in God’s sight by the works of the law; rather, through the law we become conscious of our sin.For no one can ever be made right with God by doing what the law commands. The law simply shows us how sinful we are.
God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.For God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering for our sin, so that we could be made right with God through Christ.
For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved. For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by openly declaring your faith that you are saved.
There is only one Lawgiver and Judge, the one who is able to save and destroy. But you—who are you to judge your neighbor?God alone, who gave the law, is the Judge. He alone has the power to save or to destroy. So what right do you have to judge your neighbor?
Christ is the culmination of the law so that there may be righteousness for everyone who believes. For Christ has already accomplished the purpose for which the law was given. As a result, all who believe in him are made right with God.

My soul yearns for you in the night; in the morning my spirit longs for you. When your judgments come upon the earth, the people of the world learn righteousness. In the night I search for you; in the morning I earnestly seek you. For only when you come to judge the earth will people learn what is right.
