He is the Rock; his deeds are perfect. Everything he does is just and fair. He is a faithful God who does no wrong; how just and upright he is!He is the Rock, his works are perfect, and all his ways are just. A faithful God who does no wrong, upright and just is he.
So humble yourselves under the mighty power of God, and at the right time he will lift you up in honor.Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time.
“All right then,” Joshua said, “destroy the idols among you, and turn your hearts to the Lord, the God of Israel.”“Now then,” said Joshua, “throw away the foreign gods that are among you and yield your hearts to the Lord, the God of Israel.”
Then the Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper who is just right for him.”The Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him.”
And so blessing and cursing come pouring out of the same mouth. Surely, my brothers and sisters, this is not right!Out of the same mouth come praise and cursing. My brothers and sisters, this should not be.
Accept other believers who are weak in faith, and don’t argue with them about what they think is right or wrong.Accept the one whose faith is weak, without quarreling over disputable matters.
You and I are Jews by birth, not ‘sinners’ like the Gentiles. Yet we know that a person is made right with God by faith in Jesus Christ, not by obeying the law. And we have believed in Christ Jesus, so that we might be made right with God because of our faith in Christ, not because we have obeyed the law. For no one will ever be made right with God by obeying the law.We who are Jews by birth and not sinful Gentiles know that a person is not justified by the works of the law, but by faith in Jesus Christ. So we, too, have put our faith in Christ Jesus that we may be justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the law, because by the works of the law no one will be justified.
For no one can ever be made right with God by doing what the law commands. The law simply shows us how sinful we are.Therefore no one will be declared righteous in God’s sight by the works of the law; rather, through the law we become conscious of our sin.
Those who are victorious will sit with me on my throne, just as I was victorious and sat with my Father on his throne.To the one who is victorious, I will give the right to sit with me on my throne, just as I was victorious and sat down with my Father on his throne.
Now, who will want to harm you if you are eager to do good?Who is going to harm you if you are eager to do good?
You say, “I am allowed to do anything”—but not everything is good for you. You say, “I am allowed to do anything”—but not everything is beneficial.“I have the right to do anything,” you say—but not everything is beneficial. “I have the right to do anything”—but not everything is constructive.
You say, “I am allowed to do anything”—but not everything is good for you. And even though “I am allowed to do anything,” I must not become a slave to anything.“I have the right to do anything,” you say—but not everything is beneficial. “I have the right to do anything”—but I will not be mastered by anything.
And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.
Dear brothers and sisters, if another believer is overcome by some sin, you who are godly should gently and humbly help that person back onto the right path. And be careful not to fall into the same temptation yourself.Brothers and sisters, if someone is caught in a sin, you who live by the Spirit should restore that person gently. But watch yourselves, or you also may be tempted.
For God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering for our sin, so that we could be made right with God through Christ.God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.
Better to have little, with godliness, than to be rich and dishonest.Better a little with righteousness than much gain with injustice.
For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by openly declaring your faith that you are saved.For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.
God alone, who gave the law, is the Judge. He alone has the power to save or to destroy. So what right do you have to judge your neighbor?There is only one Lawgiver and Judge, the one who is able to save and destroy. But you—who are you to judge your neighbor?
For Christ has already accomplished the purpose for which the law was given. As a result, all who believe in him are made right with God.Christ is the culmination of the law so that there may be righteousness for everyone who believes.
In the night I search for you; in the morning I earnestly seek you. For only when you come to judge the earth will people learn what is right.My soul yearns for you in the night; in the morning my spirit longs for you. When your judgments come upon the earth, the people of the world learn righteousness.
Therefore, since we have been made right in God’s sight by faith, we have peace with God because of what Jesus Christ our Lord has done for us.Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.
He personally carried our sins in his body on the cross so that we can be dead to sin and live for what is right. By his wounds you are healed.“He himself bore our sins” in his body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; “by his wounds you have been healed.”
I do not treat the grace of God as meaningless. For if keeping the law could make us right with God, then there was no need for Christ to die.I do not set aside the grace of God, for if righteousness could be gained through the law, Christ died for nothing!
But now God has shown us a way to be made right with him without keeping the requirements of the law, as was promised in the writings of Moses and the prophets long ago. We are made right with God by placing our faith in Jesus Christ. And this is true for everyone who believes, no matter who we are.But now apart from the law the righteousness of God has been made known, to which the Law and the Prophets testify. This righteousness is given through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference between Jew and Gentile.
The eyes of the Lord watch over those who do right, and his ears are open to their prayers. But the Lord turns his face against those who do evil.For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous and his ears are attentive to their prayer, but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil.

For if you are trying to make yourselves right with God by keeping the law, you have been cut off from Christ! You have fallen away from God’s grace.You who are trying to be justified by the law have been alienated from Christ; you have fallen away from grace.
