- Repent, and turn yourselves from all your transgressions; so iniquity shall not be your ruin.
- He that keepeth his mouth keepeth his life:
but he that openeth wide his lips shall have destruction. - The wise in heart will receive commandments:
but a prating fool shall fall. - But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition.
- A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly:
and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother. - The way of the Lord is strength to the upright:
but destruction shall be to the workers of iniquity. - The Lord preserveth the strangers;
he relieveth the fatherless and widow:
but the way of the wicked he turneth upside down. - Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners.
- An hypocrite with his mouth destroyeth his neighbour:
but through knowledge shall the just be delivered. - For if ye throughly amend your ways and your doings; if ye throughly execute judgment between a man and his neighbour; If ye oppress not the stranger, the fatherless, and the widow, and shed not innocent blood in this place, neither walk after other gods to your hurt: Then will I cause you to dwell in this place, in the land that I gave to your fathers, for ever and ever.
- Can a woman forget her sucking child,
that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb?
yea, they may forget,
yet will I not forget thee.
Behold, I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands;
thy walls are continually before me.
A prudent man foreseeth the evil, and hideth himself;
but the simple pass on, and are punished. He that followeth after righteousness and mercy
findeth life, righteousness, and honour.Next verse!With image
