Salvation (2/2)

  • So Christ, having been offered once to take away the sins of many, will appear a second time, not to deal with sin but to bring salvation to those who are eagerly waiting for him.
  • You have given me the shield of your salvation;
    your right hand sustains me,
and your goodness makes me great.
You broadened the path beneath me
so that my feet have never stumbled.
  • Even though the fig tree does not blossom
and there is no fruit on the vines,
even though the olive crop will fail
and the orchards will yield no food,
even though the flock is cut off from the fold
and there is no herd in the stalls,
I will continue to rejoice in the Lord,
and exult in the God of my salvation.
  • For one believes in the heart and so is justified, and one confesses with the mouth and so is saved.
  • O Lord, grant us salvation.
    O Lord, grant us success.
Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.
We bless you from the house of the Lord.
  • Rejoice with all your heart, O daughter Zion.
Shout for joy, O daughter Jerusalem.
See, your king is coming to you,
    triumphant and victorious,
humble and riding on a donkey,
on a colt, the foal of a donkey.
  • For I know that through your prayers and with the help of the Spirit of Jesus Christ this will result in deliverance for me.
  • It was for this purpose that he called you through our gospel so that you might come to share in the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.
  • Therefore, prepare your minds for action. Be calm and fix your hopes completely on the grace that you will be granted at the revelation of Jesus Christ.
  • But from everlasting to everlasting
the kindness of the Lord is with those who fear him,
and his righteousness with their children’s children,
with those who keep his covenant
    and diligently observe his commandments.
  • For it is by grace that you have been saved through faith. This has not come from you but from the gift of God. It does not come from works, so that no one can boast.
  • And not only that, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we realize that suffering develops perseverance, and perseverance produces character, and character produces hope.
  • Why are you so disheartened, O my soul?
Why do you sigh within me?
    Place your hope in God;
for I will once again praise him,
    my Savior and my God.
