| He answered, ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind’; and, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ | And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself. |

| Observe the commands of the Lord your God, walking in obedience to him and revering him. | Therefore thou shalt keep the commandments of the Lord thy God, to walk in his ways, and to fear him. |
| “Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor my covenant of peace be removed,” says the Lord, who has compassion on you. | For the mountains shall depart, and the hills be removed; but my kindness shall not depart from thee, neither shall the covenant of my peace be removed, saith the Lord that hath mercy on thee. |

| “Haven’t you read,” he replied, “that at the beginning the Creator ‘made them male and female,’ and said, ‘For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh’? So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate.” | And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female, And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh? Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder. |
| The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still. | The Lord shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace. |
| Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect. | Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect. |
| Though an army besiege me, my heart will not fear; though war break out against me, even then I will be confident. | Though an host should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear: though war should rise against me, in this will I be confident. |
| Now if you obey me fully and keep my covenant, then out of all nations you will be my treasured possession. Although the whole earth is mine. | Now therefore, if ye will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people: for all the earth is mine. |
| Here is a trustworthy saying: If we died with him, we will also live with him. | It is a faithful saying: For if we be dead with him, we shall also live with him. |
| Do not add to what I command you and do not subtract from it, but keep the commands of the Lord your God that I give you. | Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the Lord your God which I command you. |
| Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled. | Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled. |
| Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them. | He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. |
