Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand. | Let your gentle spirit be known to all people. The Lord is near. |

If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him? | So if you, despite being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him? |
When I said, My foot slippeth; thy mercy, O Lord, held me up. | If I should say, “My foot has slipped,” Your faithfulness, Lord, will support me. |
But it shall not be so among you: but whosoever will be great among you, let him be your minister; And whosoever will be chief among you, let him be your servant. | It is not this way among you, but whoever wants to become prominent among you shall be your servant, and whoever desires to be first among you shall be your slave. |
