Amen, amen, I say to you, whoever receives the one I send receives me, and whoever receives me receives the one who sent me. | Very truly I tell you, whoever accepts anyone I send accepts me; and whoever accepts me accepts the one who sent me. |
And anyone who does not take up his cross and follow me is not worthy of me. | Whoever does not take up their cross and follow me is not worthy of me. |
May he give you your heart’s desire and grant you success in all your plans. | May he give you the desire of your heart and make all your plans succeed. |
Let no one regard you with contempt because of your youth, but serve as an example to the believers in your speech and conduct, in your love, your faith, and your purity. | Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity. |
For my thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways my ways, says the Lord. | “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord. |
Repent and renounce all your transgressions. Otherwise your iniquity will prove to be your downfall. | Repent! Turn away from all your offenses; then sin will not be your downfall. |
Hear, O Israel, the Lord, our God, is Lord alone. You shall love the Lord, your God, with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your might. | Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. |
Do not wear yourself out in the pursuit of wealth, and cease even to think about it. | Do not wear yourself out to get rich; do not trust your own cleverness. |
But if you do not forgive others, then your Father will not forgive your transgressions. | But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins. |
Salvation comes from the Lord. May your blessing be upon your people. Selah | From the Lord comes deliverance. May your blessing be on your people. |
If anyone wishes to serve me, he must follow me. Where I am, there also will my servant be. If anyone serves me, my Father will honor that person. | Whoever serves me must follow me; and where I am, my servant also will be. My Father will honor the one who serves me. |
Father, allow those you have given me to be with me where I am, so that they may behold my glory, which you have bestowed on me because you loved me before the foundation of the world. | Father, I want those you have given me to be with me where I am, and to see my glory, the glory you have given me because you loved me before the creation of the world. |
My mouth is filled with your praises as I relate your glory all day long. | My mouth is filled with your praise, declaring your splendor all day long. |
Whenever you fast, do not assume a gloomy expression like the hypocrites who contort their faces so that others may realize that they are fasting. Amen, I say to you, they have received their reward. | When you fast, do not look somber as the hypocrites do, for they disfigure their faces to show others they are fasting. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. |
You are a place of refuge for me; you preserve me from trouble and surround me with songs of deliverance. Selah | You are my hiding place; you will protect me from trouble and surround me with songs of deliverance. |
You shall serve the Lord, your God. He will bless your bread and water and take away sickness from your midst. | Worship the Lord your God, and his blessing will be on your food and water. I will take away sickness from among you. |
Be mindful, O Lord, that mercy and kindness have been yours from of old. Remember not the sins of my youth or my many transgressions, but remember me in your kindness, for the sake of your goodness, O Lord. | Remember, Lord, your great mercy and love, for they are from of old. Do not remember the sins of my youth and my rebellious ways; according to your love remember me, for you, Lord, are good. |
Jesus then said to her, “Do not hold on to me, because I have not yet ascended to my Father. But go to my brethren and tell them, ‘I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.’ ” | Jesus said, “Do not hold on to me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father. Go instead to my brothers and tell them, ‘I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.’” |
For your kindness extends to the heavens; your faithfulness, to the skies. | For great is your love, reaching to the heavens; your faithfulness reaches to the skies. |
When you call out to me and come forth and pray to me, I will listen to you. | Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. |

With the Lord to protect me I am not afraid. What can mortals do to me? | The Lord is with me; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me? |
