- He is the reflection of God’s glory
and the perfect expression of his very being,
sustaining all things by his powerful word.
Achieving purification from sins,
he took his seat at the right hand of the Majesty on high. - For I handed on to you as of primary importance what I received: that Christ died for our sins, in accordance with the Scriptures, that he was buried and that he was raised to life on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures.
- When someone sins and does any of the things that the Lord has forbidden, even if he does not realize he did it, he has still committed an offense and must bear his guilt.
- No one who conceals his transgressions will prosper,
but one who confesses and renounces them will obtain mercy. - If your brother wrongs you, go and take up the matter with him when the two of you are alone. If he listens to you, you have won your brother over.
- Hatred stirs up strife,
but love overlooks all offenses. - Is anyone among you sick? He should send for the presbyters of the Church so that they may pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord. The prayer of faith will save the sick person, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed any sins, he will be forgiven.

for the devil has been a sinner
from the very beginning.
The Son of God appeared for this very purpose:
to destroy the work of the devil. - Then Peter came up to him and asked, “Lord, if my brother sins against me, how often must I forgive him? As many as seven times?” Jesus answered, “I say to you, not seven times but seventy times seven.”
- But if you do not forgive others, then your Father will not forgive your transgressions.
- For this reason, he is the mediator of a new covenant, so that those who have been called may receive the promised eternal inheritance, since his death has served to redeem the sins that were committed under the first covenant.
- And if then my people who bear my name humble themselves and pray to me and seek my presence as they turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear them from heaven and forgive their sins and restore their land.
- Prepare in advance what you want to say,
and return to the Lord.
Say to him, “Take away all guilt
and give us what is good,
so that we may present as offerings
the bullocks from our stalls.” - Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that weighs us down and the sins that so easily distract us and with perseverance run the race that lies ahead of us.
- Indeed, under the Law almost everything is purified by blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness.
- Blessed is the one whose offense is forgiven,
whose sin is erased. - And whenever you stand in prayer, forgive whatever grievance you have against anybody, so that your Father in heaven may forgive your wrongs too.
- In other words, God was in Christ, reconciling the world to himself, and not holding people’s transgressions against them, and he committed to us the message of reconciliation.
- But God is rich in his mercy, and because he had such great love for us, he brought us to life with Christ when we were already dead through sin—it is by grace that you have been saved.
- Repent and renounce all your transgressions. Otherwise your iniquity will prove to be your downfall.
- As far as the east is from the west,
so far has he removed our transgressions from us. - And forgive us our debts
as we forgive our debtors. - Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is close at hand.
- Produce good fruit as proof of your repentance.
- No, I tell you. But unless you repent, you will all perish as they did.
