| In my Father’s house are many homes. If it weren’t so, I would have told you. I am going to prepare a place for you. | My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? |
| For you need endurance so that, having done the will of God, you may receive the promise. | You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised. |
| For as the body is one and has many members, and all the members of the body, being many, are one body; so also is Christ. | Just as a body, though one, has many parts, but all its many parts form one body, so it is with Christ. |

| It shall not be so among you; but whoever desires to become great among you shall be your servant. Whoever desires to be first among you shall be your bondservant. | Not so with you. Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must be your slave. |
| So is my word that goes out of my mouth: it will not return to me void, but it will accomplish that which I please, and it will prosper in the thing I sent it to do. | So is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it. |
| So, then, my beloved brothers, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, and slow to anger. | My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry. |
