In this my Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; and so you will be my disciples. | This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples. |
For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. | As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts. |

In my Father’s house are many homes. If it weren’t so, I would have told you. I am going to prepare a place for you. | My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? |
For you need endurance so that, having done the will of God, you may receive the promise. | You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised. |
For as the body is one and has many members, and all the members of the body, being many, are one body; so also is Christ. | Just as a body, though one, has many parts, but all its many parts form one body, so it is with Christ. |
You shall consider in your heart that as a man disciplines his son, so Yahweh your God disciplines you. | Know then in your heart that as a man disciplines his son, so the Lord your God disciplines you. |
For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep in Jesus. | For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him. |
For as through the one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, even so through the obedience of the one, many will be made righteous. | For just as through the disobedience of the one man the many were made sinners, so also through the obedience of the one man the many will be made righteous. |
So then the Lord, after he had spoken to them, was received up into heaven and sat down at the right hand of God. | After the Lord Jesus had spoken to them, he was taken up into heaven and he sat at the right hand of God. |
Beloved, if God loved us in this way, we also ought to love one another. | Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. |
Return, and turn yourselves from all your transgressions, so iniquity will not be your ruin. | Repent! Turn away from all your offenses; then sin will not be your downfall. |
For so has the Lord commanded us, saying, ‘I have set you as a light for the Gentiles, that you should bring salvation to the uttermost parts of the earth.’ | For this is what the Lord has commanded us: “I have made you a light for the Gentiles, that you may bring salvation to the ends of the earth.” |
Repent therefore, and turn again, that your sins may be blotted out, so that there may come times of refreshing from the presence of the Lord. | Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord. |
“Can anyone hide himself in secret places so that I can’t see him?” says Yahweh. “Don’t I fill heaven and earth?” says Yahweh. | “Who can hide in secret places so that I cannot see them?” declares the Lord. “Do not I fill heaven and earth?” declares the Lord. |
For him who knew no sin he made to be sin on our behalf, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God. | God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God. |
Even so, I tell you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner repenting. | In the same way, I tell you, there is rejoicing in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents. |
So Christ also, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time, not to deal with sin, but to save those who are eagerly waiting for him. | So Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many; and he will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him. |
Bearing with one another, and forgiving each other, if any man has a complaint against any; even as Christ forgave you, so you also do. | Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. |
As you don’t know what is the way of the wind, nor how the bones grow in the womb of her who is with child; even so you don’t know the work of God who does all. | As you do not know the path of the wind, or how the body is formed in a mother’s womb, so you cannot understand the work of God, the Maker of all things. |
Yahweh said to Satan, “Behold, all that he has is in your power. Only on himself don’t stretch out your hand.” So Satan went out from the presence of Yahweh. | The Lord said to Satan, “Very well, then, everything he has is in your power, but on the man himself do not lay a finger.” Then Satan went out from the presence of the Lord. |
Even so husbands also ought to love their own wives as their own bodies. He who loves his own wife loves himself. | In this same way, husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself. |
Behold, he is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see him, including those who pierced him. All the tribes of the earth will mourn over him. Even so, Amen. | “Look, he is coming with the clouds,” and “every eye will see him, even those who pierced him”; and all peoples on earth “will mourn because of him.” So shall it be! Amen. |
It shall not be so among you; but whoever desires to become great among you shall be your servant. Whoever desires to be first among you shall be your bondservant. | Not so with you. Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must be your slave. |
So is my word that goes out of my mouth: it will not return to me void, but it will accomplish that which I please, and it will prosper in the thing I sent it to do. | So is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it. |
So, then, my beloved brothers, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, and slow to anger. | My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry. |
