Ponder the path of your feet, And let all your ways be established. | Ensure that the path you tread is level, and then your ways will be sure. |
Therefore, brethren, be even more diligent to make your call and election sure, for if you do these things you will never stumble; for so an entrance will be supplied to you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. | Therefore, brethren, be diligent in providing a firm foundation for your call and election. If you do this, you will never stumble, and you will receive a glorious welcome into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. |
O Lord, You are my God. I will exalt You, I will praise Your name, For You have done wonderful things; Your counsels of old are faithfulness and truth. | O Lord, you are my God. See that no one renders evil for evil to anyone, but always pursue what is good both for yourselves and for all. | Make sure that no one pays back evil for evil. Rather, always aim to achieve what is best for each other and for everyone. |
Surely he will never be shaken; The righteous will be in everlasting remembrance. | He will never be swayed; the righteous man will be remembered forever. |
Surely the Lord God does nothing, Unless He reveals His secret to His servants the prophets. | Indeed, the Lord God does nothing without revealing his plan to his servants, the prophets. |
Turn at my rebuke; Surely I will pour out my spirit on you; I will make my words known to you. | If you would seriously consider my reproof, I would pour out my thoughts to you and make my precepts known to you. |
This is a faithful saying: For if we died with Him, We shall also live with Him. | This saying can be trusted: If we have died with him, we shall also live with him. |
He who testifies to these things says, “Surely I am coming quickly.” Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus! | The one who gives this testimony says, “Yes, I am coming soon.” Amen. Come, Lord Jesus! |
Surely He has borne our griefs And carried our sorrows; Yet we esteemed Him stricken, Smitten by God, and afflicted. | Although it was our afflictions that he bore, our sufferings that he endured, we thought of him as stricken, as struck down by God and afflicted. |
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me All the days of my life; And I will dwell in the house of the Lord Forever. | Only goodness and kindness will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever and ever. |
You shall diligently keep the commandments of the Lord your God, His testimonies, and His statutes which He has commanded you. | You shall take heed to observe the commandments of the Lord, your God, and the decrees and statutes that he has given to you. |
And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him. | And if we know that he hears us in regard to whatever we ask him, we may be sure that all we ask of him will be ours. |
Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage. | It was for freedom that Christ set us free. Therefore, stand firm and refuse to submit again to the yoke of slavery. |
Being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ. | I am confident of this: that the one who began a good work in you will bring it to completion on the day of Christ Jesus. |
But if a wicked man turns from all his sins which he has committed, keeps all My statutes, and does what is lawful and right, he shall surely live; he shall not die. | However, if the wicked renounce all of the sins that they have committed and keep all my statutes and do what is right and just, they shall surely live; they shall not die. |
Beware, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief in departing from the living God. | Take care, brethren, that none of you will ever have an evil and unbelieving heart that will cause you to forsake the living God. |
In the day of prosperity be joyful, But in the day of adversity consider: Surely God has appointed the one as well as the other, So that man can find out nothing that will come after him. | When things are going well, be grateful for your blessings, and in times of adversity consider this: God has made both of them, so that we cannot predict with confidence what the future holds. |
For you, brethren, have been called to liberty; only do not use liberty as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another. | Brethren, you were called to freedom. However, make sure that you do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh. Instead, serve one another in love. |
The vine has dried up, And the fig tree has withered; The pomegranate tree, The palm tree also, And the apple tree— All the trees of the field are withered; Surely joy has withered away from the sons of men. | The vine has withered; the fig tree droops. The pomegranate, the palm, and the apple tree— all the trees of the field have dried up. And the joy of the people has also withered away. |
This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. | Do not let this book of the law be absent from your mouth; meditate upon it day and night, so that you might carefully observe everything that is written in it. Can a woman forget her nursing child, And not have compassion on the son of her womb? Surely they may forget, Yet I will not forget you.
