He who walks uprightly, And works righteousness, And speaks the truth in his heart; He who does not backbite with his tongue, Nor does evil to his neighbor, Nor does he take up a reproach against his friend.Those who lead blameless lives and do what is right, speaking the truth from sincere hearts. Those who refuse to gossip or harm their neighbors or speak evil of their friends.
Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good; Blessed is the man who trusts in Him!Taste and see that the Lord is good. Oh, the joys of those who take refuge in him!
Let the lowly brother glory in his exaltation, but the rich in his humiliation, because as a flower of the field he will pass away.Believers who are poor have something to boast about, for God has honored them. And those who are rich should boast that God has humbled them. They will fade away like a little flower in the field.
So Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many. To those who eagerly wait for Him He will appear a second time, apart from sin, for salvation.So also Christ was offered once for all time as a sacrifice to take away the sins of many people. He will come again, not to deal with our sins, but to bring salvation to all who are eagerly waiting for him.
Honor widows who are really widows.Take care of any widow who has no one else to care for her.
“Do I have any pleasure at all that the wicked should die?” says the Lord God, “and not that he should turn from his ways and live?”Do you think that I like to see wicked people die? says the Sovereign Lord. Of course not! I want them to turn from their wicked ways and live.
You therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.Timothy, my dear son, be strong through the grace that God gives you in Christ Jesus.
Be kindly affectionate to one another with brotherly love, in honor giving preference to one another.Love each other with genuine affection, and take delight in honoring each other.
Little children, keep yourselves from idols. Amen.Dear children, keep away from anything that might take God’s place in your hearts.
You shall not afflict any widow or fatherless child. If you afflict them in any way, and they cry at all to Me, I will surely hear their cry; and My wrath will become hot, and I will kill you with the sword; your wives shall be widows, and your children fatherless.You must not exploit a widow or an orphan. If you exploit them in any way and they cry out to me, then I will certainly hear their cry. My anger will blaze against you, and I will kill you with the sword. Then your wives will be widows and your children fatherless.
Blessed is the man Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, Nor stands in the path of sinners, Nor sits in the seat of the scornful.Oh, the joys of those who do not follow the advice of the wicked, or stand around with sinners, or join in with mockers.
I delight to do Your will, O my God, And Your law is within my heart.I take joy in doing your will, my God, for your instructions are written on my heart.
As for every man to whom God has given riches and wealth, and given him power to eat of it, to receive his heritage and rejoice in his labor—this is the gift of God.And it is a good thing to receive wealth from God and the good health to enjoy it. To enjoy your work and accept your lot in life—this is indeed a gift from God.
Wash yourselves, make yourselves clean; Put away the evil of your doings from before My eyes. Cease to do evil.Wash yourselves and be clean! Get your sins out of my sight. Give up your evil ways.
The Lord your God in your midst, The Mighty One, will save; He will rejoice over you with gladness, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing.For the Lord your God is living among you. He is a mighty savior. He will take delight in you with gladness. With his love, he will calm all your fears. He will rejoice over you with joyful songs.
A prudent man foresees evil and hides himself; The simple pass on and are punished.A prudent person foresees danger and takes precautions. The simpleton goes blindly on and suffers the consequences.
Hear, my son, and receive my sayings, And the years of your life will be many.My child, listen to me and do as I say, and you will have a long, good life.
But I say to you, do not swear at all: neither by heaven, for it is God’s throne; nor by the earth, for it is His footstool; nor by Jerusalem, for it is the city of the great King.But I say, do not make any vows! Do not say, ‘By heaven!’ because heaven is God’s throne. And do not say, ‘By the earth!’ because the earth is his footstool. And do not say, ‘By Jerusalem!’ for Jerusalem is the city of the great King.
So we fasted and entreated our God for this, and He answered our prayer.So we fasted and earnestly prayed that our God would take care of us, and he heard our prayer.
Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil.
For I know that my Redeemer lives, And He shall stand at last on the earth.But as for me, I know that my Redeemer lives, and he will stand upon the earth at last.
Cast your burden on the Lord, And He shall sustain you; He shall never permit the righteous to be moved.Give your burdens to the Lord, and he will take care of you. He will not permit the godly to slip and fall.
And why do you look at the speck in your brother’s eye, but do not consider the plank in your own eye?And why worry about a speck in your friend’s eye when you have a log in your own?
In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins.This is real love—not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins.
Learn to do good; Seek justice, Rebuke the oppressor; Defend the fatherless, Plead for the widow.Learn to do good. Seek justice. Help the oppressed. Defend the cause of orphans. Fight for the rights of widows.

So then, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath.Understand this, my dear brothers and sisters: You must all be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to get angry.
