- For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God.
- Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life.
- This is how you can recognize the Spirit of God: Every spirit that acknowledges that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, but every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you have heard is coming and even now is already in the world.

- The soothing tongue is a tree of life,
but a perverse tongue crushes the spirit. - A cheerful heart is good medicine,
but a crushed spirit dries up the bones. - For the flesh desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh. They are in conflict with each other, so that you are not to do whatever you want.
- “If you keep your feet from breaking the Sabbath
and from doing as you please on my holy day,
if you call the Sabbath a delight
and the Lord’s holy day honorable,
and if you honor it by not going your own way
and not doing as you please or speaking idle words,
then you will find your joy in the Lord,
and I will cause you to ride in triumph on the heights of the land
and to feast on the inheritance of your father Jacob.”
For the mouth of the Lord has spoken. - For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.
- Pride brings a person low,
but the lowly in spirit gain honor. - And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies because of his Spirit who lives in you.
- Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.
- The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace.
- Create in me a pure heart, O God,
and renew a steadfast spirit within me. - Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.

When he had received the drink, Jesus said, “It is finished.” With that, he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world.
