It is well with the man who deals graciously and lends. He will maintain his cause in judgment.The future bodes well for him who is generous in helping those in need and who conducts his affairs with justice.

A fool vents all of his anger, but a wise man brings himself under control.A fool gives free rein to his anger, but a wise man bides his time and calms it.
But if anyone doesn’t provide for his own, and especially his own household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.And whoever does not provide for relatives, especially for those who are living with him, has disowned the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.
A fool shows his annoyance the same day, but one who overlooks an insult is prudent.A fool is quick to show his anger, but a prudent man ignores an insult.
Then those who gladly received his word were baptized. There were added that day about three thousand souls.Those who accepted his message were baptized, and on that day about three thousand people were added to their number.

The multitude of those who believed were of one heart and soul. Then the Lord knows how to deliver the godly out of temptation and to keep the unrighteous under punishment for the day of judgment.Therefore, the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from their trials and to hold the wicked for punishment until the Day of Judgment.
The ransom of a man’s life is his riches, but the poor hear no threats.A wealthy man pays a ransom to save his life; a poor man never has to worry about such threats.
