Their (4/4)

This commandment we have from him, that he who loves God should also love his brother. And he has given us this command: Anyone who loves God must also love their brother and sister.
He who keeps the commandment keeps his soul, but he who is contemptuous in his ways shall die.Whoever keeps commandments keeps their life, but whoever shows contempt for their ways will die.
For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his life? Or what will a man give in exchange for his life? What good will it be for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul? Or what can anyone give in exchange for their soul?
Even a fool, when he keeps silent, is counted wise. When he shuts his lips, he is thought to be discerning.Even fools are thought wise if they keep silent, and discerning if they hold their tongues.
Rest in Yahweh, and wait patiently for him. Don’t fret because of him who prospers in his way, because of the man who makes wicked plots happen.Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him; do not fret when people succeed in their ways, when they carry out their wicked schemes.
A fool vents all of his anger, but a wise man brings himself under control.Fools give full vent to their rage, but the wise bring calm in the end.
But if anyone doesn’t provide for his own, and especially his own household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.Anyone who does not provide for their relatives, and especially for their own household, has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.
A fool shows his annoyance the same day, but one who overlooks an insult is prudent.Fools show their annoyance at once, but the prudent overlook an insult.
Then those who gladly received his word were baptized. There were added that day about three thousand souls. Those who accepted his message were baptized, and about three thousand were added to their number that day.
Many will purify themselves, and make themselves white, and be refined, but the wicked will do wickedly; and none of the wicked will understand, but those who are wise will understand. Many will be purified, made spotless and refined, but the wicked will continue to be wicked. None of the wicked will understand, but those who are wise will understand.
Because the midwives feared God, he gave them families. And because the midwives feared God, he gave them families of their own.
For what does it profit a man to gain the whole world and forfeit his life? What good is it for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul?
I know that there is nothing better for them than to rejoice, and to do good as long as they live. Also that every man should eat and drink, and enjoy good in all his labor, is the gift of God.I know that there is nothing better for people than to be happy and to do good while they live. That each of them may eat and drink, and find satisfaction in all their toil—this is the gift of God.
Every man also to whom God has given riches and wealth, and has given him power to eat of it, and to take his portion, and to rejoice in his labor—this is the gift of God.Moreover, when God gives someone wealth and possessions, and the ability to enjoy them, to accept their lot and be happy in their toil—this is a gift of God.
You will keep whoever’s mind is steadfast in perfect peace, because he trusts in you.You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you.
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be filled.Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.
A fool has no delight in understanding, but only in revealing his own opinion.Fools find no pleasure in understanding but delight in airing their own opinions.
For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there I am in the middle of them. For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.
The words of a wise man’s mouth are gracious; but a fool is swallowed by his own lips.Words from the mouth of the wise are gracious, but fools are consumed by their own lips.
The multitude of those who believed were of one heart and soul. Not one of them claimed that anything of the things which he possessed was his own, but they had all things in common. All the believers were one in heart and mind. No one claimed that any of their possessions was their own, but they shared everything they had.
Then the Lord knows how to deliver the godly out of temptation and to keep the unrighteous under punishment for the day of judgment. If this is so, then the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from trials and to hold the unrighteous for punishment on the day of judgment.
The ransom of a man’s life is his riches, but the poor hear no threats.A person’s riches may ransom their life, but the poor cannot respond to threatening rebukes.
Don’t envy the man of violence. Choose none of his ways. For the perverse is an abomination to Yahweh, but his friendship is with the upright.Do not envy the violent or choose any of their ways. For the Lord detests the perverse but takes the upright into his confidence.
For, “He who would love life and see good days, let him keep his tongue from evil and his lips from speaking deceit. Let him turn away from evil and do good. Let him seek peace and pursue it.”For, “Whoever would love life and see good days must keep their tongue from evil and their lips from deceitful speech. They must turn from evil and do good; they must seek peace and pursue it.”
Behold, that which I have seen to be good and proper is for one to eat and to drink, and to enjoy good in all his labor, in which he labors under the sun, all the days of his life which God has given him; for this is his portion. This is what I have observed to be good: that it is appropriate for a person to eat, to drink and to find satisfaction in their toilsome labor under the sun during the few days of life God has given them—for this is their lot.
