| This commandment we have from him, that he who loves God should also love his brother. | And he has given us this command: Anyone who loves God must also love their brother and sister. |
| He who keeps the commandment keeps his soul, but he who is contemptuous in his ways shall die. | Whoever keeps commandments keeps their life, but whoever shows contempt for their ways will die. |

| For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his life? Or what will a man give in exchange for his life? | What good will it be for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul? Or what can anyone give in exchange for their soul? |

| The multitude of those who believed were of one heart and soul. Not one of them claimed that anything of the things which he possessed was his own, but they had all things in common. | All the believers were one in heart and mind. No one claimed that any of their possessions was their own, but they shared everything they had. |

| For, “He who would love life and see good days, let him keep his tongue from evil and his lips from speaking deceit. Let him turn away from evil and do good. Let him seek peace and pursue it.” | For, “Whoever would love life and see good days must keep their tongue from evil and their lips from deceitful speech. They must turn from evil and do good; they must seek peace and pursue it.” |
