- For in him all the fullness of the Deity dwells bodily, and in him you are made full, who is the head of all principality and power.
- But you, when you fast, anoint your head and wash your face, so that you are not seen by men to be fasting, but by your Father who is in secret; and your Father, who sees in secret, will reward you.
- Yet I am Yahweh your God from the land of Egypt;
and you shall acknowledge no god but me,
and besides me there is no savior. - Enter in by the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the way is broad that leads to destruction, and there are many who enter in by it. How narrow is the gate and the way is restricted that leads to life! There are few who find it.
- For if the readiness is there, it is acceptable according to what you have, not according to what you don’t have.
- While they were there, the day had come for her to give birth. She gave birth to her firstborn son. She wrapped him in bands of cloth and laid him in a feeding trough, because there was no room for them in the inn.
- No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.
- Where there is no counsel, plans fail;
but in a multitude of counselors they are established. - But you, Yahweh, are a shield around me,
my glory, and the one who lifts up my head. - In all hard work there is profit,
but the talk of the lips leads only to poverty. - I tell you that even so there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents, than over ninety-nine righteous people who need no repentance.
- For you, Lord, are good, and ready to forgive,
abundant in loving kindness to all those who call on you. - So you shall know wisdom to be to your soul.
If you have found it, then there will be a reward:
Your hope will not be cut off. - When they lead you away and deliver you up, don’t be anxious beforehand or premeditate what you will say, but say whatever will be given you in that hour. For it is not you who speak, but the Holy Spirit.
- She shall give birth to a son. You shall name him Jesus, for it is he who shall save his people from their sins.
- Beware, brothers, lest perhaps there might be in any one of you an evil heart of unbelief, in falling away from the living God.
- For the commandments, “You shall not commit adultery,” “You shall not murder,” “You shall not steal,” “You shall not covet,” and whatever other commandments there are, are all summed up in this saying, namely, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”
- He said to them, “Don’t be amazed. You seek Jesus, the Nazarene, who has been crucified. He has risen! He is not here. See the place where they laid him!”
- A man of many companions may be ruined,
but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother. - There are those who covet greedily all day long;
but the righteous give and don’t withhold. - But there is nothing covered up that will not be revealed, nor hidden that will not be known.
- Know therefore today, and take it to heart, that Yahweh himself is God in heaven above and on the earth beneath. There is no one else.
- Now therefore let the fear of Yahweh be on you. Take heed and do it; for there is no iniquity with Yahweh our God, nor respect of persons, nor taking of bribes.
- According to the law, nearly everything is cleansed with blood, and apart from shedding of blood there is no remission.
- There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who don’t walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus made me free from the law of sin and of death.
