A prayer to the God of my life. - For His anger is but for a moment,
His favor is for life;
Weeping may endure for a night,
But joy comes in the morning. - Moreover, brethren, I declare to you the gospel which I preached to you, which also you received and in which you stand, by which also you are saved, if you hold fast that word which I preached to you—unless you believed in vain.
- When goods increase,
They increase who eat them;
So what profit have the owners
Except to see them with their eyes? - When you make a vow to God, do not delay to pay it;
For He has no pleasure in fools.
Pay what you have vowed. - Who has performed and done it,
Calling the generations from the beginning?
‘I, the Lord, am the first;
And with the last I am He.’ - Hear my prayer, O Lord,
And give ear to my cry;
Do not be silent at my tears;
For I am a stranger with You,
A sojourner, as all my fathers were. - Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
