- Blessed is the one whose offense is forgiven,
whose sin is erased. - What god can compare with you,
the God who takes away guilt
and forgives the transgressions
of the remnant of your people?
You will not allow your anger to fester forever,
for your delight is in bestowing mercy. - Brethren, if anyone is detected committing a transgression, you who are spiritual must set him right in a spirit of gentleness. Meanwhile, you should take care so that you yourselves are not tempted.
- However, the gift is not like the transgression. For if the transgression of one man led to the death of the many, how much greater was the overflowing effect of the grace of God and the gift of the one man Jesus Christ that has abounded for the many.
- As far as the east is from the west,
so far has he removed our transgressions from us. - Repent and renounce all your transgressions. Otherwise your iniquity will prove to be your downfall.
- Where many words are spoken, sin is not absent,
but whoever restrains his tongue is prudent. - One who forgives a misdeed fosters friendship,
but he who divulges it separates good friends. - I have swept away your transgressions like a cloud
and your sins like a mist.
Return to me,
for I have redeemed you. - Everyone who sins breaks the law,
for sin is lawlessness. - No one who conceals his transgressions will prosper,
but one who confesses and renounces them will obtain mercy. - But he was pierced for our offenses
and crushed for our iniquity;
the punishment that made us whole fell upon him,
and by his bruises we have been healed. - Then I acknowledged my sin to you,
and I made no attempt to conceal my guilt.
I said, “I will confess my offenses to the Lord,”
and you removed the guilt of my sin. Selah - Be mindful, O Lord, that mercy and kindness
have been yours from of old.
Remember not the sins of my youth
or my many transgressions,
but remember me in your kindness,
for the sake of your goodness, O Lord. - Have mercy on me, O God,
in accord with your kindness;
in your abundant compassion
wipe away my offenses.
Wash me completely from my guilt,
and cleanse me from my sin. - But if you do not forgive others, then your Father will not forgive your transgressions.
- For this reason, he is the mediator of a new covenant, so that those who have been called may receive the promised eternal inheritance, since his death has served to redeem the sins that were committed under the first covenant.
- In other words, God was in Christ, reconciling the world to himself, and not holding people’s transgressions against them, and he committed to us the message of reconciliation.
- And whenever you stand in prayer, forgive whatever grievance you have against anybody, so that your Father in heaven may forgive your wrongs too.
- But God is rich in his mercy, and because he had such great love for us, he brought us to life with Christ when we were already dead through sin—it is by grace that you have been saved.
The proud man’s heart is not upright,
but the righteous man will live
because of his faith. But Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them. For it is to such as these that the kingdom of heaven belongs.”Next verse! With image
