| According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue. | For His divine power has granted to us everything pertaining to life and godliness, through the true knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and excellence. |
| Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. | Come to Me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. |
| Labour not for the meat which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give unto you: for him hath God the Father sealed. | Do not work for the food that perishes, but for the food that lasts for eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you, for on Him the Father, God, has set His seal. |
| And when he had called the people unto him with his disciples also, he said unto them, Whosoever will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. | And He summoned the crowd together with His disciples, and said to them, “If anyone wants to come after Me, he must deny himself, take up his cross, and follow Me.” |
| Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you. | But I tell you the truth: it is to your advantage that I am leaving; for if I do not leave, the Helper will not come to you; but if I go, I will send Him to you. |
| The eyes of the Lord are upon the righteous, and his ears are open unto their cry. | The eyes of the Lord are toward the righteous, And His ears are toward their cry for help. |
| But the end of all things is at hand: be ye therefore sober, and watch unto prayer. | The end of all things is near; therefore, be of sound judgment and sober spirit for the purpose of prayer. |
| The entrance of thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple. | The unfolding of Your words gives light; It gives understanding to the simple. |
| Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him. | Every word of God is pure; He is a shield to those who take refuge in Him. |
| O give thanks unto the Lord; for he is good; for his mercy endureth for ever. | Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; For His faithfulness is everlasting. |
| That I may come unto you with joy by the will of God, and may with you be refreshed. | So that I may come to you in joy by the will of God and relax in your company. |
| Sing unto the Lord; for he hath done excellent things: this is known in all the earth. | Praise the Lord in song, for He has done glorious things; Let this be known throughout the earth. |
| O give thanks unto the Lord; call upon his name: make known his deeds among the people. | Give thanks to the Lord, call upon His name; Make His deeds known among the peoples. |
| The Lord is nigh unto all them that call upon him, to all that call upon him in truth. | The Lord is near to all who call on Him, To all who call on Him in truth. |
| And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. | And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.” |
| Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth. | But Jesus said to him, “ ‘If You can’? All things are possible for the one who believes.” |
| Moreover when ye fast, be not, as the hypocrites, of a sad countenance: for they disfigure their faces, that they may appear unto men to fast. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. | Now whenever you fast, do not make a gloomy face as the hypocrites do, for they distort their faces so that they will be noticed by people when they are fasting. Truly I say to you, they have their reward in full. |
| The Lord will give strength unto his people; the Lord will bless his people with peace. | The Lord will give strength to His people; The Lord will bless His people with peace. |
| Ye shall not make with me gods of silver, neither shall ye make unto you gods of gold. | You shall not make other gods besides Me; gods of silver or gods of gold, you shall not make for yourselves. |
| Unto Adam also and to his wife did the Lord God make coats of skins, and clothed them. | And the Lord God made garments of skin for Adam and his wife, and clothed them. |
| Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body. | Wives, subject yourselves to your own husbands, as to the Lord.
