| Dear friends, since God loved us that much, we surely ought to love each other. | Beloved, since God loved us so much, we should love one another. |
| Teach us to realize the brevity of life, so that we may grow in wisdom. | Teach us to comprehend how few our days are so that our hearts may be filled with wisdom. |

| See how very much our Father loves us, for he calls us his children, and that is what we are! | And the Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness. For example, we don’t know what God wants us to pray for. But the Holy Spirit prays for us with groanings that cannot be expressed in words. | In the same way, even the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know how to pray as we should, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with sighs that cannot be put into words. |
| And this is what God has testified: He has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. | And this is the testimony: God gave us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. |
| But thank God! He gives us victory over sin and death through our Lord Jesus Christ. | But thanks be to God who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. |

| Dear children, let’s not merely say that we love each other; let us show the truth by our actions. | Dear children, let us love not in word or speech but in deed and truth. |
| Please, Lord, please save us. Please, Lord, please give us success. Bless the one who comes in the name of the Lord. We bless you from the house of the Lord. | O Lord, grant us salvation.
