The Lord our God be with us, as he was with our fathers: let him not leave us, nor forsake us. | May the Lord, our God, be with us, just as he was with our fathers; may he not leave us or abandon us. |
For thou, O God, hast proved us: thou hast tried us, as silver is tried. | For you, O God, have put us to the test; you have purified us as silver is refined. |

Philip saith unto him, Lord, show us the Father, and it sufficeth us. | Philip said to him, “Lord, show us the Father, it will be enough for us.” |
Give us this day our daily bread. | Give us this day our daily bread. |
What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us? | What then can we say in response to all this? If God is for us, who can be against us? |
O come, let us worship and bow down: let us kneel before the Lord our maker. | Come forth! Let us bow down to worship him; let us kneel before the Lord, our Maker. |
We love him, because he first loved us. | Therefore, we love because he first loved us. |
Hereby know we that we dwell in him, and he in us, because he hath given us of his Spirit. | This is how we can be certain that we abide in him and that he abides in us: he has given us a share in his Spirit. |
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen. | And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. |
Not unto us, O Lord, not unto us, but unto thy name give glory, for thy mercy, and for thy truth's sake. | Not to us, O Lord, not to us, but to your name give glory because of your kindness and faithfulness. |
No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us. | No one has ever seen God, but if we love one another, God abides in us, and his love is made complete in us. |
Help us, O God of our salvation, for the glory of thy name: and deliver us, and purge away our sins, for thy name's sake. | Help us, O God, our Savior, for the glory of your name; deliver us and wipe away our sins for your name’s sake. |
Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us. | Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that weighs us down and the sins that so easily distract us and with perseverance run the race that lies ahead of us. |
And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. | And forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors. |
Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober. | So we must not fall asleep as the others do, but we must stay alert and sober. |
Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began. | God saved us and called us to a life of holiness, not because of our works but according to his own purpose and the grace that has been bestowed upon us in Christ Jesus from all eternity. |
He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things? | He did not spare his own Son but gave him up for all of us. How then can he fail also to give us everything else along with him? |
Let us search and try our ways, and turn again to the Lord. | Let us examine and test our ways and return to the Lord. |
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. | However, if we confess our sins, he who is faithful and just will forgive our sins and cleanse us from all wrongdoing. |
And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour. | And walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a sacrificial offering whose fragrance is pleasing to God. |
And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation. | All this has been done by God, who has reconciled us to himself through Christ and entrusted us with the ministry of reconciliation. |
Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works. | He gave himself for us in order to deliver us from all iniquity and to purify for himself a people as his own who are eager to do good. |
Turn us again, O Lord God of hosts, cause thy face to shine; and we shall be saved. | Restore us, O Lord of hosts; let your face shine upon us, and we will be saved. |
And he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth in him, and he in him. And hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he hath given us. | All those who keep his commandments abide in him, and he abides in them. And the proof that he abides in us is the Spirit that he has given us. |
God shall bless us; and all the ends of the earth shall fear him. | May God continue to bless us and be revered to the ends of the earth. |
