  • But he knows where I am going.
    And when he tests me, I will come out as pure as gold.
    For I have stayed on God’s paths;
    I have followed his ways and not turned aside.
  • Where is another God like you,
    who pardons the guilt of the remnant,
    overlooking the sins of his special people?
    You will not stay angry with your people forever,
    because you delight in showing unfailing love.
  • No one lights a lamp and then puts it under a basket. Instead, a lamp is placed on a stand, where it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father.

  • Pride leads to conflict;
    those who take advice are wise.

Then they will hand him over to the Romans to be mocked, flogged with a whip, and crucified. But on the third day he will be raised from the dead.”
  • Too much talk leads to sin.
    Be sensible and keep your mouth shut.
  • God overlooked people’s ignorance about these things in earlier times, but now he commands everyone everywhere to repent of their sins and turn to him.
  • Plans go wrong for lack of advice;
    many advisers bring success.
  • A person standing alone can be attacked and defeated, but two can stand back-to-back and conquer. Three are even better, for a triple-braided cord is not easily broken.
  • I know how to live on almost nothing or with everything. I have learned the secret of living in every situation, whether it is with a full stomach or empty, with plenty or little.
  • For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires.
  • For I command you this day to love the Lord your God and to keep his commands, decrees, and regulations by walking in his ways. If you do this, you will live and multiply, and the Lord your God will bless you and the land you are about to enter and occupy.
