What then shall we say about these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? | What then can we say in response to all this? If God is for us, who can be against us? |
Behold, Yahweh’s eye is on those who fear him, on those who hope in his loving kindness. | But the eyes of the Lord are on those who fear him, on those who trust in his kindness. |

Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter into the Kingdom of Heaven, but he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. | Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my heavenly Father. |
Honor widows who are widows indeed. | Give proper consideration to those widows who are truly in need. |
Those who know your name will put their trust in you, for you, Yahweh, have not forsaken those who seek you. | Those who revere your name place their trust in you, for you never abandon those who seek you, O Lord. |
Rest in Yahweh, and wait patiently for him. Don’t fret because of him who prospers in his way, because of the man who makes wicked plots happen. | Wait quietly for the Lord and be patient until he comes. Do not fret over the man who prospers because of his evil schemes. |
One who is slow to anger is better than the mighty; one who rules his spirit, than he who takes a city. | It is better to be a patient man rather than a warrior, one who controls his temper rather than one who captures a city. |
He who guards his mouth guards his soul. One who opens wide his lips comes to ruin. | He who guards his mouth makes his life secure, but one who talks excessively ensures his own downfall. |
Blessed are those who keep his statutes, who seek him with their whole heart. | Blessed are those who observe his statutes and seek him with their whole heart. |
Most certainly I tell you, he who receives whomever I send, receives me; and he who receives me, receives him who sent me. | Amen, amen, I say to you, whoever receives the one I send receives me, and whoever receives me receives the one who sent me. |
He who gets wisdom loves his own soul. He who keeps understanding shall find good. | Whoever gains wisdom loves his own soul; one who cherishes understanding will prosper. |
Those who are in the flesh can’t please God. | Those who live according to the flesh can never be pleasing to God. |
But he who endures to the end will be saved. | But whoever endures to the end will be saved. |
This commandment we have from him, that he who loves God should also love his brother. | This is the commandment we have received from him: whoever loves God must also love his brother. |
But “he who boasts, let him boast in the Lord.” For it isn’t he who commends himself who is approved, but whom the Lord commends. | If anyone would boast, let him boast in the Lord. For it is not the one who commends himself who is really approved, but the one whom the Lord commends. |
They said to you, “In the last time there will be mockers, walking after their own ungodly lusts.” These are those who cause divisions and are sensual, not having the Spirit. | For they said to you, “In the final age there will be scoffers who will follow their own ungodly passions.” It is these people who create divisions, who follow their natural instincts and do not possess the Spirit. |
But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off are made near in the blood of Christ. | But now in Christ Jesus, you who once were far off have been brought near through the blood of Christ. |
Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted. | Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted. |
To those who by perseverance in well-doing seek for glory, honor, and incorruptibility, eternal life. | To those who seek after glory and honor and immortality by persevering in good works, he will grant eternal life. |
When Jesus heard it, he said to them, “Those who are healthy have no need for a physician, but those who are sick do.” | When Jesus heard this, he said, “It is not the healthy who need a physician, but rather those who are sick.” |
But I tell you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you. | But I say to you: Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you. |
You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because greater is he who is in you than he who is in the world. | Dear children, you are from God and you have conquered them, for the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world. |

Give to everyone who asks you, and don’t ask him who takes away your goods to give them back again. | Give to everyone who begs from you, and do not demand the return of what is yours from the one who has taken it. |
I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. | I can do all things in him who strengthens me. |
